Detailed Reviews
We went for a short visit to Rome and Vatican – 3 days, 2 nights. Wanted to see everything important from a historical/cultural point of view, but anywhere you are in this part of the world there is something important…. We chose to stay in the outskirts of Rome and use the Omnia Vatican and Rome Pass for transportation inside town, as by car would have been pure madness. Very good decision! So, lodging: beautiful small hotel with all amenities including a very clean pool that was the kids’ joy every evening; very clean rooms, good service, 24-hour front desk (even though slow by American standards, but hey, it’s Italy, just drink a glass of wine and enjoy!), free Wi-Fi, very good food. Location: you have a free shuttle to the metro Station Cinecitta (1 mile away), train station Capannelle and Ciampino airport (3 miles away). We enjoyed every minute we stayed there! Strongly recommend!

Hotel grounds were lovely, rooms were very spacious, clean and beautiful. When we landed it was in the evening and i have to say we felt a bit unwelcome by the receptionist, it actually was like we were annoying her by checking in or by asking questions and when i went up a 2nd time to get my passports back i received another unfriendly interaction. Its very close to the airport and the shuttle(€5pp) was great to have especially in the early morning just make sure you book on time because its a small bus. The breakfast was good if you just wanted something light in the morning (ceral, pastry, etc) the other meats or hot food wasnt the best.

Mixed feelings about this hotel.. We booked it based on recommondations from friends a couple of years back but we were not as happy as they had been.
Firstly; our room didn't have a patio or balcony (which was my mistake for just assuming all rooms do) and was located right next to the restaurant. Windows opened to the restaurant terrace. The pool area looks nice but they make you wear swimming caps to use it. The waiter during dinner was not very helpful; he quite literally threw italian menus on the table and left without saying a word. After a while a younger waiter came to ask if we were ready to order and when we told him we were still trying to translate the italian menu he was surprised we weren't given an english one. Which he then offered us. The food was quite blant and looked like something was just thrown on a plate in a hurry. But the sunday breakfast was a total disaster!! Instead of serving it inside in the breakfast room like the day before they had put everything out on the terrace. When we arrived (an hour before the breakfast time was over) there was pretty much nothing to eat. The few slices of ham and cheese still left were sitting in the warm sun surrounded by flies. Coffee was cold. After a while a waiter brought a small portion of scrambbled eggs to the buffet table but there was so little of it that it was enough for only a couple of people. We literally had nothing to eat or drink. Worst hotel breakfast ever. On the plus side they offer a shuttle to the metro station (which is also within walkable distance in my opinion) and the receptionist lady was super friendly and nice. Also free car park next to the hotel. After this experience I'm sorry to say I would most definitely stay somewhere else next time.

Just a 20 minute taxi ride from the Colleseum, this hotel is a nice option if you're looking for a unique place to stay.
The room was small, but spacious for 2 of us. The pool is a nice place to relax. Our stay included breakfast, which had a wide variety of food, juices and coffee available.
The staff was a bit less than friendly, but they were courteous and ready to accommodate your needs.
The food at the restaurant was very good, but pricier than expected. Being our first visit to Italy, we went with the flow and had a 3 course dinner. There are also items available off-men, like bruschetta or salads.
I would stay here again.

My stay at Piccolo Borgo was unfortunately disappointing. It started off on the wrong foot with our first room being excessively hot, a stifling 33°C, and crawling with bugs. We hoped for a quick fix, but things didn't get much better.
After explaining the situation to the hotel staff, they shifted us to another room. However, this room had its own set of problems, with a broken toilet and shower. It seemed like we were hopping from one issue to the next without any respite.
When we asked for a refund due to these unacceptable conditions, the staff was uncooperative, insisting we stay the remaining five days. They suggested a third room, but by that point, we were completely disillusioned and chose to leave.
My wife and I left frustrated and covered in bug bites. The icing on the cake? We're still trying to get our refund sorted out.

I stayed here with my son and visited Rome. We had a really nice room, clean and nicely decorated. The breakfast buffet was very nice. We had good weather and also enjoyed some nice time in the pool.
The free shuttle took us to the closeby metro station and also picked us up.

Having organised to travel to rome with my wife and another couple i made 2 reservations in 2 different names. The other couple couldnt come because of work and we cancelled their reservation 1 month before the trip .Me and my wife finally choosed to stay to another hotel in rome center and we cancelled our reservation too.(10 days before the trip and the deadline was 2 days ) .
During my trip to rome ( 23-26 november ) i received an e-mail from this hotel that my credit card charged the price of 1 night for both rooms because i hadnt cancelled the reservations .after 20 or more e-mail proving them i have cancelled the bookings ( thank god i kept the e-mails the system send me and after a lot of excuses they were so kind to me to refund me half my money back .
Of course i do not agree with this so i still havent got my money back .Today is 5 january 2013 and still nothing .
In to days i shall go to bank to deny the chargement .Anyway i dont to hear about this hotel in my life never again .They must learn that taking 50 euros more might cost them a lot more in the future

A friendly hotel with excellent staff who went out of their way to be helpful. We had a really good room, similar to a mini-apartment, located just outside the main building. Convenient and reliable minibus service to nearest metro station. Plenty of safe secure car parking. Highly recommended.

The staff was great! We had an early flight out the next day so the staff brought us fruit and yogurt the night before our departure as we were going to miss the morning breakfast. We aslo asked for a taxi which arrived on schedule. Excellent service above and beyond. Our room was clean and quiet. Thanks for making our last night in Italy a pleasant stay.

I have spent just one day in this hotel and mostly at the swimming pool. staff personnel is really helpful and nice; swimming pool is great above all after a whole day in the crazy Rome... its not very close to the city center but you can easily reach it via train or metro.
