We got into Rome late and needed somewhere close to Termini Station as we had a early morning train to Florence. Urbis fit the bill as it was extremely close and cheap. When we got in, the front desk representative while very nice, spoke no English. Usually this wouldn't be such an issue because checking in shouldn't be difficult. Well,...

Very close from Terminni but very bad service. We arrived there and they sent us to another hotel cause they made a mistake in the booking. The building was very old and not clean. The guy at the reception was nice but the place is not recomendable only as a last choice.

It all started exactly when we arrived at the hotel at approximately 14 o'clock and we tried to get some rest. Children were running and shouting in the corridor, and after that as they were playing they tried to get into our room, fortunately we had locked the dood, but we were pretty scared. None of the hotel staff tried...

I have been staying in this hotel since 02/08/2015. Sorry to say that I have got very bad and bitter experience being a border of this hotel. My experiences are as follows: 1. None of the staffs of this hotel neither understand nor speak a single word of English. 2. The management of the hotel is very poor. I booked...

Our room (No. 10, the only double room with private bathroom ) was dark, stuffy, unsuitable, the walls were dirty, the bathroom was small, contained only toilet and shower, the sink was within the room, which was totally different from the pictures of the website. There was no refrigerator in the room, and no cleaning service during 3 day! The...

The hotel is in a good location right by termini. It is shared bathroom, this was kept clean although lights were on a timer so you had to be careful not to end up in darkness in the shower! My major concern was the stair well leading to the hotel, you wouldn't want to be on your own there at...

We arrived in pouring rain and were greeted at the "lobby" by the homeless people setting up camp for the night. The elevator was broken and we had to haul our massive suitcases up with no help from the hotel staff. My first question when I opened the room door was where's my bathroom? The reception man laughed and told...

I was to say the least a little apprehensive about this hotel after reading previous reviews BUT on arriving at this hotel-which is only a few steps away from the Termini train station, I was relieved to find it above my expectations. My son and I stayed here for a week and found the room clean, the beds comfy, the...

I don't know if things have changed recently but I honestly believe that people expect too much from a 2 STAR HOTEL. The hotel was quite lovely. The manager was great, upgrading our room for free from a shared bathroom to a private. The room was cleaned every day, everything placed into neat piles. The only problem we had was...

You have a comfy bed, A hot shower and its only 2mn walk to Roma Termini which means EVERYTHING is just outside the front door. Manager was so lovely every time we saw him. We had no problems whatsoever. Our room was very clean as was our bathroom. Both my husband and I would go back.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
