My sister and I stayed here after Christmas. The rooms are small, but a very good value if you are wanting to stay in a safe, clean place with easy access to metro stops. The owner is an older Italian gentleman who will take the time to explain how to access the hotel from the street, and which keys to...

Good points- comfy bed, good price, friendly staff, near to metro, bottles of water restocked in the fridge daily, clean sheets, quiet. Drawbacks - reception is only open 08-20 hrs, so since you're out all day you cant call on assistance in the eve.

I read through reviews about this hotel prior to booking and was so shocked when we arrived that it received so many above average reviews. The bed was extremely uncomfortable - old and dipped in in the middle. It was the noisiest place we could possible. The road was busy through the night and there were dumopsters below our window....

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
