The hotel needs a little updating but the rooms were clean, the staff were lovely, breakfast was great and the location isn’t bad if you don’t mind a little walk into the centre and want to save some money. There are plenty of bars and restaurants within 15min walking distance, we really enjoyed the local area of Trastevere. The mattress was terrible, that was the only massive downside for me. Very hard so not a great night sleep for me personally but others may like!

The Good: - The hotel itself looks nice from the outside. Not too big, only has 4 floors so it feels a bit private. It has it's classic/vintage vibe that we actually like as opposed to yet another American chain hotel. - We also like the pool. Not a lot of decent sized pool around the city center, but this one fits the kind of pool we like. It also has a deep end, I believe maybe 8-10ft. - FREE breakfast! Well at least with the package we got. Its actually good bfast. We got scrambled eggs, bacon, waffles, fruits & pancakes. (although not a fan of italian pancakes) Also available, cappucino, italian coffee and OJ. - The staff speaks decent english. We had some room issues (deets below) and they were apologetic about it and fairly accommodating. - Daniel from the front desk, was very helpful about showing us how to get around and where to get our covid tests, really made an effort to explain in detail and gave us maps. - Walking distance to Trastevere. The Bad: - 2nd night we stayed, our old shower door glass shattered! Like holy cow it shattered while my bf was in it showering, gave him cuts in his foot too. For no friggin reason! Unbelievable! The staff was nice to move and upgrade us to a bigger room. - 3rd night, our AC went off! We had no AC the ENTIRE night. We opened the windows to get some breeze in. Pretty miserable. - 4th night, our water just stopped working! Im like jfc.. what is going on?? 2 hours later, the front desk called and fixed it. - Location. Ok, it's is not that bad. There are plenty of other hotels near the touristy areas, but this isn't really near them. Not what the description says. It's NOT walking distance to Colosseum or Vatican city, Trevi Fountain etc. (Need bus or train) For hikers/backpackers, they will tell you otherwise. But for typical gal like me, unfortunately, I will want a ride. The hotel is also up on a hill. Going back to it on foot will be a challenge specially after a long day of sight seeing. - The beds are stiff. We got a queen sized bed, which actually was two twin beds that was pushed against another to be a queen. - Last but definitely not least, with all the inconvenience we experienced... maybe just maybe, we could get some kind of discount. Oh yea, there is, they took a few cheap drinks off my bill to compensate. Oh gee, thanks! See, if this happened in the US, people would have already sued. What if it was my child who was taking a shower? Smh. This hotel needs to upgrade their amenities. Overall, I would not recommend.

For some this hotel will be outdated, others call it a classic styled. It is situated on a mountain with a wonderful panorama in the vicinity of the Garibaldi statue. The hotel is clean, so are the rooms. It was cleaned every day during our stay. Rooms are indeed small, but that was not a problem. The bathroom is small too and the shower is tiny, this was a problem sometimes when turning around.....The pool is a nice area too chill. The water is cold, refreshing and clean. The filters next to the borders are helas dirty as hell end needs thorough cleaning. The water quality is checked every day. Breakfast is served on the nice terrace next to the pool and is fantastic, you can order as much as you want and quality is very good. The one big negative point is the price list of drinks and food. The prices are sky high, like 6 euro for a small pint of beer, 5 euro for a 20cl lemonade. 20 euro for a hamburger. Around the corner there is a bar and 100m down the road also where you can drink a 66cl of beer for 2.70 euro....Staff and waiters are very polite and helpfull also !!! Overall a very good hotel with some minor details like small shower and too high prices in the restaurant / poolbar.

So, basically this is an old gem of an hotel. Great location and great pool. Classical hotel with old setup of rooms etc. They have seemed to put focus on common areas like the pool, but not keeping up the standards for the rooms. Clean yes, but facilities like AC is not up to 4 star standards. We got info from front desk that the temperature is 25-26 C in all rooms. We were staying in 103 and that room kept aprox 27-28C with full AC on. So, if you are looking for a medium range place with a nice pool - this is it. If you are in need of AC - rethink, 25-27C might not be enough. They were nice to on the second night give us an extra room but after a lot of input and discussions. That should not be needed. Breakfast is good with an a la carte setup. Also a little side note is that the front desk are used to guests complaining about AC and are very good at giving excuses like "we will send a technician", "we will reboot the temp from central unit" etc. Just to keep guest satisfied with "action being taken". In the end the AC unit is actually disfunctional. Fix the basics like AC, and this place will be great again!

This hotel is very attractive fro the outside. The room we were allocated was a standard one and we were not happy with the small size of the room and the incredibly small grubby shower cubicle. We asked to change room. The receptionist informed us that we could spend our last 2 nights in another room but that all the rooms were very similar anyway, she indicated that it would not be worth our while. I find this an incredible admission as the hotel clearly advertises 3 standards of room with 3 differing prices! If the rooms are the same, why do this!? It seems somewhat dishonest. We did move room and it was slightly bigger with a shower over the bath! The bath was a spa bath that did not work and had loose fittings. However, the staff were very pleasant and the pool area was a lovely place to have breakfast. The breakfast had to adhere to Covid restrictions and so the waiters brought your food to your table. Breakfasts were good. The position of the hotel is excellent, the area is lovely, the views from a 5 minute walk spectacular over Rome. However, beware when distances to the city or town area are given because if you walk you are on top of a hill, the quoted distances in the hotel information may look OK but it is a very steep long climb back up to the hotel from the town area. Restricted mobilty would be a problem. I recommend the Antico Arco restaurant next to the hotel, food absolutely delicious. The bar also next to the hotel (1 minute walk) sells coffee, beverages, alcohol etc at much more reasonable prices than the hotel . All in all I would say that this was a 3 star not a 4 star hotel. If you have realistic expectations before you go you will not be disappointed. The hotel is a fine 3 star.
