The hotel had a nice location, I walked with my bag from termini and didn't have any problem while walking, it's only a 5 minutes walk from there, the only thing is that it doesn't have an elevator, and I had to go up with the bags to my room, other than that I really enjoyed my stay, it's a...

Great location and very friendly staff. The hotel needs a bit of a revamp as the carpets and fittings are very worn. Rooms are comfortable and tidy and it's close to the main train station as well as others so it worked well for us. Breakfast isn't very good if you can't eat wheat but fine for everyone else.

Great location, just a short walk from the railway station and ideally placed to explore the City on a budget. Staff were superb and hotel very clean, tidy and comfortable. There is a supermarket next door which is also very useful! Would definitely go back there again.

The employees here are extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are very cozy and stylish. Unlike anywhere else I've ever stayed. Although, the bathroom is very small and hard to navigate and the shower set up is garbage. Other than that minor issue, I really enjoyed my stay

We were here in May 2012. The rooms were small and old but it was ok we got sleep. It's located pretty close to Termini the walk is pretty short. It was much cheaper then other options in Rome. The staff was ok especially a young girl was very helpful always polite and kind and eager to tell us abou...

I visited this hotel for the second time in October 2015 and stayed for six nights at room 25, a single room, beautifully decorated and with nice, old furniture. I was lucky to have a room to the beautiful and quiet back yard. Air condition and windows that could be opened wide. Free wireless internet connection, although a little slow....

We chose Elyse because of its modest price and close proximity to Termini Station which was important for us. The staff was extremely friendly. They spoke English well. We enjoyed breakfast there one of our mornings. The room was simple with a private bathroom. We had a neighbor cat who hangs out in the courtyard come up to our window...

Well located, clean and the staff is very helpfull. It's average, nothing more, nothing less than a good place to rest after a busy day, Rooms are quite spacious and so are the bathrooms. Very, very close to Termini station. The only negative point: it's a little bit dark around the hotel at night - you might be careful if...

Far distance from train station, you still have 20-25 mins walk distance from the train station to the hotel. Not only the inconvenient distance, but also safety concern has to be taken to account, this hotel is located in a shabby and disorder area, full of drunk people and tramps, many people wandering in the street with doing nothing except...

The location is quite convenient if you want to be close to termini and airport buses. Close to metro station and buses as well. The staff was really friendly and helpful, and reception was open 24h. Also, breakfast was included - fruits, cakes and coffee or juice, quite Italian! I would really recommend it!

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
