If you like indifferent service, tiny rooms, loud noises throughout the night, no air conditioning after 6 pm on sultry nights, and minimal options of stale offerings at breakfast, this is the place for you. If you want a decent hotel experience, avoid this place.

I stayed here with a friend at the start of October, the hotel has an excellent location right next to the train station and about a 20 minute walk from the Trevi fountain. There are many restaurants and cafes near by and endless places to eat and shop in the station. The staff are friendly and the rooms are clean...

Stayed here for four nights on a recent trip to Rome. The rooms are basic but clean. I must say the bed in our room...404..was very comfortable. The breakfast was very good. There is no bar but shops nearby if you fancy a tipple.

We stayed 3 nights in the Hotel Lazio as part of our tour of Italy for our honeymoon. I booked the hotel because of its location - right next to the station which was absolutely brilliant - just a small walk from the station. Also right next to the place where the hop on hop off bus stopped! Was really...

The paintings on the walls is falling, cracks in the walls, breakfast is less than poor, very military school style. Employees not very friendly, and depending on what side of the hotel your windows are you might have the wonderful view of the side of another building or be woke up by the bells of the church. On the other...

We stayed three nights while touring Rome. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The room, though small, was clean, quiet, cool and just what we needed after a hot day of trekking up and down those seven hills. The hotel offered a good complimentary breakfast each day and was within easy walking distance of the Roma Termini, shops and...

We may have just been unlucky with our room but our shower was broken and would not stay fixed upon the wall, meaning it had to be handheld. Lack of a shower curtain coupled with the shower facing into the bathroom meant it was very difficult not to soak the floor which then got dirty very quickly. There was also...

Very basic hotel with all the basics to make you comfortable for a short stay. We stayed one night in a stopover in Rome. We arrived by train and we're pleased that it was just a 5min walk from the Roma Termini train station. Staff were great and even organized an early takeaway breakfast for our 3am departure the following...

Hotel Lazio is a simple hotel. You get clean rooms, and great people at the desk, they're very warm and helpful. You can't beat the location if you need to be need to be close to the train. It's less than a five minute walk. The only small complaints I have is, wifi is only available in the lobby. You...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
