I took my daughter and 2 granddaughter to Rome and stayed at the Hotel Golden. The family is so friendly and helpful, I can only say positive things about the experience. They helped us get last minute tour tickets that were more than we could have expected. We wanted to see the Colosseum, but the tour ended up taking us...

Don't be out off by the 2 star official rating. This place is fantastic. Lovely rooms, really comfortable. Service is outstanding, very friendly and provide excellent recommendations. All of which worked out really well. The breakfasts are really well prepared with homemade cakes made pretty much every day. The only reason I have not given it 5 stars is because...

This was our first time in Rome, and our visit became an experience because of the kindness of the Loria family. We arrived in turmoil because my camera died, and Guiseppe took time from his busy day to take me to a local camera shop where I was able to buy a replacement camera. So one very grateful tourist, and...

Our family of five (all adult age) had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Golden for four nights in May 2014. We had such a lovely stay to be certain. The neighborhood is excellent. Convenient small shops and eateries are very close by. The location off the Via Veneto, and near the Villa Borghese, is perfect. The Barberini metro...

We stayed for just one night in this lovely family run hotel after a holiday in Umbria. It's situated in a quiet neighbourhood by the Villa Borghese and the service is excellent especially for the price. The family could not be more helpful. Breakfast was full of home made items. A great place for a short break in Rome which...

We were six women making our way through Italy. Our last stop was Hotel Golden. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we felt warm and invited. I love the personal treatment you receive from a committed family run business. We stayed in the family suite which was amazing. Our friends stayed in the main hotel and...

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights at Hotel Golden in late May and I would strongly recommend it to anyone who is seeking a smaller family run hotel in a very quiet and convenient part of Rome. The Loria family were all most friendly and helpful and our room was the largest and most comfortable we experienced during...

I stayed four nights and everyone was extremely helpful and welcoming the entire time. Any question we had about getting around, where to go, what to eat, Marco and his family had great suggestions. Highly recommend to anyone who would like to feel like they are staying with friends and family rather than at a hotel

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights while in rome in mid May. Such a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Marco and family were so gracious and helpful. We enjoyed every aspect of this family run establishment. We were located very close to major sites such as the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps, and the T stop was just...

Wonderful 5 night stay in early May 2014. Family run hotel as advertised. All were very conscientious about the service they provide and the comfort of the guests. We all very much enjoyed the warm and friendly atmosphere. Giuseppe and Marco took care of everything we needed. Transportation to the hotel and check-in went very smooth. Of course, the focus...

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.

The Hotel Golden of Rome is a small and genuine family run hotel where you will be welcome as family. The hotel is located in one of the best spots of the city, just behind the oasis of the Borghese Gardens (where you can visit the famous Borghese Gallery Museum) walking out of our property, in less than 100 meters you will be on Via Vittorio Veneto from where you can reach in 10 minutes of nice and enjoyable walk the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and Campo di Fiori.Very well served with public transport (mini bus like the 116 and 116T, from just around the corner will take you almost every where in Rome) including a very convenient stop right next to the Vatican Square.Bus 53 and 80X directly to the Colosseum.Bus 63 to Trastevere and the Jewish Ghetto.Besides all that, we have two metro stops closeby: Barberini and Spagna. Our location is full of small little restaurants and trattorie (reasonable prices and great food and wine) we will share all that info with our guests upon arrival (places where we go ourselves to eat with the family)in other words, the Hotel Golden of Rome (like the many reviews of our dear guests around the world say) is a family run hotel for families right in the center of Rome!Full air conditioned (and air conditioning that works)free wifi in all the hotel. And the best of the best: our mother's homey breakfast (every morning she makes breakfast for our guests just like she did at home) from omelettes to "frittata", pancakes, cinnamon french toasts, croissants, crostata, ciambellone, ham, cheese, salami, mortadella, fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, ricotta, and many other daily recipes that she brings new for our guests to enjoy (like her very very light "tiramisu") you have to try it!Come and visit us.. We will be so happy to meet you! ... more   less
