We spent 4 nights in this lovely place. We got really nice tips from the owner and everything is in walking range, especially the colosseum. Breakfast is in a little cafe 50m away. You get a drink (tea, hot chocolate or any kind of coffee) and a croissant with filling of your choice. You also have the mobile number of...

Not really a hotel or b&b feel. You're given keys and away you go. The b&b is in a block of flats. Has a nice feel to it. The area seems a bit run down but it doesn't take long to get to nice areas and the colosseum. Try Ristorante Vecchia Trattoria which is really nice and only a short...

Great, economical place to spent a few days in Rome before our Mediterranean cruise. Our room was very neat and clean. Lucca met us at the front door after we called him minutes before. He gave as a great local briefing on places to eat, easiest route to the attractions, laundry services, etc... The B & B is situated between...

We spent 2 nights in this conveniently located B&B. It is only one metro stop away from Stazione Termini, in case you are too lazy to walk or simply do not want to carry your luggage for too long. The area is residential and used to be high end with its beautiful ancient buildings, steps away from the most famous...

Good location. Close to the train station and 15 min. walk to the Colosseum. Breakfast was in a café just around the corner. Which was a lovely experience. We got a warm welcome by Marco. It felt like seeing an old time friend again. He also gave us tips what to visit during our stay in Rome. As we are...

This hotel was in a good location near to Rome Fiumuncino train station. It was really hard to find at first but we got there in the end and Marco, the host, was so lovely & welcoming and helped us take our bags to the room. The room was lovely & really nicely decorated. The room was really clean and...

The owner was very helpful and the room quite elegant. The service was very good (we had our towels changed every morning) and the breakfast was awesome (great coffee and a large variety of croissants to choose from). On the other hand, the building is a bit old and the neighborhood rather decadent (old buildings and very few people walking...

First, the positive aspects: interesting decor (old movie and advertising posters), clean, bright, quiet street, great cafe for breakfast (friendly, clean and good coffee), friendly owner, can leave your bags on day of departure, early "check-in" possible, close to Termini station, best gelato palace in Rome around the corner, good Saturday market at the nearby square. Negative aspects: our room...

B and B's in Rome aren't like the ones in the UK, some are just a bedroom with a shower and breakfast is usually a ticket to exchange in a local cafe for a sticky bun and a coffee, and that's exactly what you get here. The good bit is that it's clean and very central and from my experience...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
