Rome is fully of mediocre hotels that are really expensive. I was thrilled when the Diocleziano B&B had room for me. On the web site it looked spacious and modern and hip. What I didn't realize is that it's basically several rooms in two apartments spread out over a whole floor of an apartment building; it's run by a very...

Great location, situated just minutes from Termini. Arriving from Ciampino airport with the Terravision bus it's just a 2 minute walk. I stayed in a room with private bathroom which was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was nothing special, but that's the most negative thing I can say as service and everything else was way above expected. DO NOT look...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

“My wife and I selected a superior room, my son had a regular: both were good. We overlooked the rear of the hotel and recommend the same. Open windows meant we had to adjust to tolling bells and the singing of birds.”
