Our original booking was at the three coins b&b by the trevi fountain under the same management of this establishment. This was cancelled on the day of arrival due to alleged water problems after emailing throughout the week before with no reply. Only notified during transit on plane to Rome that no room was available. Maria (I believe management) did...

This room was very small with dark wallpaper making it seem even smaller. The matress on the bed was rock hard, which suited us but wouldnt many others. There was a wardrobe, small dresser and mini fridge within the room. Not many places to plug anything in. We choose a room with a private bathroom. Be aware, it is very...

I booked this B&B a few days ago for a trip in September. I then received an e-mail from the hotel stating that our reservation had been cancelled, but the e-mail did not give a reason. Later that day, we received an e-mail from a very nice woman with Hoteliers, presumably the group that Stella Elsa is affiliated with, saying...

The location was good - just 3 minutes to Termini, many good restaurants, and a grocery store and shopping. Also within walking distance to most sights. Our room had a bad odor in the bathroom. Although the room was clean, the odor from the bathroom made it seem as though it was not. They offered us another room if we...

I disliked this hotel, very, very much. I even booked it for 2 nights and badly want to cancel the 2nd night to find a different hotel. Room was small. Trash was not cleaned out from previous guests. Yes this hotel has a shared bathroom, but it was awful because the lights didnt work, nor could I get the shower...

This was definitely my worst experience so far, and I have been in many places. The room was very small (no space around the bed) and it was dirty, just like the bathroom. The staff was neither friendly nor polite. We had to pay extra for the air conditioning. Although they claim to have "breakfast included", they only offer the...

Pros: 1. Excellent location - 2 1/2 blocks from Termini Roma (the subway/bus/shuttle hub of the city) 2. Room on inner courtyard was relatively quiet when people in the apartments on other floors weren't yelling or playing loud music. 3. Room itself was remarkably clean considering the condition of the building 4. Breakfast cappuccino & espresso were free & good...

It was a really good choice for the money that we were able to spend. We had a double room with a private bathroom. The room was quite small, but functionable and really clean. The breakfast also helped as to save some money, even if the buffet had only the basics. The location of the hotel is its best advantage....

This hotel is right in the middle of a tourist area and just a few blocks away from Roma Termini which is great location wise. The room wasn't super special but was decent and about on par with other places of the same caliber but we paid 25E less for this room than a similar hotel we had in Florence...

I am shocked that the previous comments are related to the Stella Elsa. My other half and I spent a week in Rome last week and stayed at the B&B and we thought it was vile. To start with the staff seemed friendly, but throughout the week the cleaner complained that she had to make the beds more than she...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
