We stayed at the Hotel Camelia twice within a week. Both stays were great. Friendly staff, very good breakfast and breakfast room at a good price. Rooms are clean and prices felt very good. Would gladly stay here again. Single rooms are compact but fine for one person.
First time in Rome and this was the perfect place to stay. The receptionist who checked us in was super helpful with great tips and a map with clear directions. He was roght about walking 90 % of the time... the fiest day there we walked over 11 km! Our room was on the third floor, with a small shared balcony that faces an inner courtyard, so it was quiet at night:) small, but comfortable room, with a super comfortable bed. Great location close to the train station and the Come Il Latte Gelato place.
Nice, clean and great location. Minutes to Termini Train Station, and Metro. 2 stops from Trevi. Rooms and bathrooms very clean. Friendly staff. Hotel offers breakfast buffet with nice selection of eggs, cakes, pastries at 7Eu extra charge per person. Fully recommend while visiting Rome.
We had booked two rooms for our family of 6. Our larger room was quad size containing a double bed and two singles. The rooms are delighful and clean with good working facilities including TV, a small fridge and a safe. This hotel has 4 floors and we were on the top floor. There is a lift but it is rather slow and small - maximum of 4 occupants and not the smartest lift either you cannot select multiple floors. Anyway thats a minor issue. The only other negative points are that there was no internet for over half our stay. This is outside the hotels control with the service provider but this was restored later and worked absolutely fine. The hotel does not provide an iron which is a shame. The staff are very friendly and helpful and gave useful tips to get around Rome. We choose to eat breakfast on a couple of mornings. This is not included in the price but it is a reasonable cost per person ( I think it was either 6 or 8 euros). A great variety of food - toasts, crossiants, pain-au-chocolate, yoghurts, fruits, eggs, meats coffee, tea, juice. Very satisfied with it. The hotel is conveniently located its very close to the main attractions - you can walk to the Spanish Steps or the Collisuem in under 25 minutes. The hotel is also close to several metro stops - Reppublica being the closest and is only a 10 minute walk from Termini - the major rail station that gets you to the Airport and other major cities in Italy. Many resturants and cafe's nearby just a few minutes walk away and Conad supermarket less than 5 minutes walk away. We really enjoyed our stay here and I would not hesitate in coming back here again.…
A very comfortable hotel, spotlessly clean, friendly staff. Breakfast a bit expensive for what is offered! No tea making, grrr, no iron available. A pleasant stay, not close to attractions but in a lovely wide street without crowds!
Was uploading reviews and thought I need to pay homage to this Gem of a Hotel! First off, this review is long due, as my large group of more than 20 stayed there years ago. We were such a rambunctious group, some of us impolite to staff, and the whole time, they were kind and professional. This is a Great Hotel, full of small boutique charm, pristinely clean, and well decorated. I picked it because of its location to the Termini station, as we wanted to take the train to the beach one day. On our last morning, they even packed breakfast for the whole group in bags to bring to the airport, something I have never experienced. I didn’t even ask, I just mentioned that we were leaving early, so they packed us breakfast! When do you get that in a 5 star?! Anyways, this is a great choice for a local feel, close to the Termini, great breakfast, and wonderful management! I would like to finally apologize for my group’s behavior after all these years and wish this place the best!…
Room was ok as rooms go, bathroom quite small but again ok. Shower soap dispenser would not dispense soap, so had to dismantle and remove from wall to use during showers. No kettle and tea / coffee facilities in room. Worst part though was the breakfast. Hotel was part of Bellarome trip for italy v England rugby. Advertised as buffet breakfast, but breakfast consisted of 1 croissant, a coffee or tea and fruit juice, absolute crap!
Stayed for 5 nights with our 2 young kids - the room had a large double bed and sofa bed for the kids, and still loads of room for luggage and moving around. Rooms and the hotel in general are very clean, and the staff at reception very helpful and pleasant to talk with. Termini station is 5-10 mins walk away, large supermarket at the end of the road, and restaurants and cafes on all the side streets nearby. Very pleasant stay, and would definitely stay again next time we are in Rome.
Camelia is a small cozy hotel in a good spot in Rome. It's located near the Central train station an not far from the city center but it is also close to the Colosseum and other points of interest. Moreover, It's a 5 min walk from a metro station. It has comfortable clean rooms and a good breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful and the price was just fine!
This hotel, not far from anywhere in Rome, is a comfy little Italian jewel for the traveler wanting an authentic Italian experience lodging. The staff is excellent, speak several languages, and are always glad to help in any way they can.
