This B&B type hotel is near the Termini train station which allows to easily access the city sights, the airport and travel to other cities. It has everything you need for a holiday in a city like Rome; good location, elevator, high speed WiFi connection and English speaking staff. The only disadvantage is that the walls are very thin and...

First of all, to all those reviewers complaining about the small room, the small shower area, and the very basic amenities: exactly how much did you pay for? Don't expect first class facilities when you don't even pay much. I believe we did get much value from this hotel considering how cheap it was compared to other hotels in the...

I stayed at Hotel Lazzari during May and my partner and I could not be happier with it :) The location is brilliant, 5 mins away from Rome Termini and close to shops and lovely restaurants. The staff were very welcoming and even though their English wasn't fluent they tried hard to make sure we were being looked after. This...

This location is in the historic area which I loved. The architecture is amazing. We found the area to be very noisy, must have been a through fare for all traffic. The rooms are small but clean and for the amount of time spent in the room worth the price. This building has an old style elevator that worked great...

Very central in Rome, a 10 min walk to Rome termini station, and very handy. The room we had was very small for 2 people but it was fine as we only slept there and used it as a base to move around. Air conditioning was effective and bathroom was tiny but clean. The room itself was clean and the...

Stayed with my husband and 2 young children- asked for a cot in the room which was there on arrival. Breakfast at the bar next door was ok, a drink and a croissant. The owners weren't overly friendly. Room was ok nothing special but for the price that's expected. Bathroom was tiny and the shower doors were broken. We booked...

At first the wifi was not working but they were able to reset their router and then the wifi was great. Located walking distance to Tirmini station (the main station in the area that connects you to the airport). Its 5 to 10 minute walk. Free breakfast is served in the cafe downstairs if you book here. You get to...

The hotel is located close to Roma Termini, about 10 minutes walk. The room we stayed in was small. Basic amenities were provided like hair dryer, shampoo and soap. No tea/coffee making facilities as hotels in Italy rarely provide kettles (the ones we stayed in didn't have them). Wifi available. I didn't like the bathroom as it was very tiny....

Having enjoyed my stay in some really homely and considerate hotels in Orvieto, Bologna, Venice and Florence, Hotel Lazzari proved different and cold. Hotel Lazzari is one of a few hotels /guesthouses housed in one building. Outside the gate you announce yourself and depending on the time of the day, you either report at the reception on the second floor...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
