We booked this through Air France Holidays and our room looked NOTHING like their website showed. We ended up moving to a different hotel (Hotel Oceania which we HIGHLY recommend) and it made ALL the difference in our trip. It's a basic hotel and it's clean for the most part. The clerk in the lobby was very helpful but we...

The hotel was convenient to the Termini and only about a 10 minute walk, just watch your personal belongings while in Rome. The room was large, but the bed wasn't too comfortable. The bathroom was adequate, but definitely showing it's age. It was a fair deal for the location, price, and time of year. The elevator was broken on arrival,...

Thankfully we read Filamblogger's review before we went and we were able to locate the hotel easily. Website needs updating to let others know where to find it. Good location, reasonably priced restaurants close by. Public transport easily accessed at Termini. Within walking distance of many of the major sights. Staff always polite and friendly at reception and at breakfast....

We stayed in this hotel from February 7 to 14 and then overnight on February 21. It is located on Via Principe Amedeo near the Termini or train station. This is a 2 star hotel so don't expect luxurious accommocations. On the negative side, the room was small and spartan (of course), the elevator old, and the linens and towels...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
