We stayed for two nights prior to a Mediterranean cruise in the Penhouse Suite. All details were carefully executed and staff members always available to assist with tours, dining reservations, and transfers. The Penthouse Suite commands a great view of the surrounding attractions and the shopping choices are without parallel. The Lifestyle team kept in close e-mail contact before our...

This is truly a spectacular hotel. It was absolutely SUPERB! The rooms were beautiful. They were decorated in a tasteful, traditional European decor. The staff was excellent. I can not say enough positive about them. The hotel was perfect for exploring Rome from. I hope to return to this incredible hotel.

I'm a year late in writing this review, but the hotel deserves a good review. We chose the hotel based on TA reviews and availability, and we weren't disappointed. While many of the finer details are now lost in memory, the experience was very memorable. The staff were very helpful, the location was prefect for (re)-exploring Rome on foot. The...

This hotel is perfect in every way. From the moment of arriving where you are greeted on the first floor "living room" (more personalised service rather than just a normal reception check in area) by both Roberto and Thomas with a glass of sparkling champagne, to the entrance to a beautifully designed room, as the name of the Hotel suggests,...

We recently stayed at the Portrait Roma for three days. All the staff was very helpful and I found everyone I met or talked to extremely friendly and professional, when we needed directions or restaurant suggestions we felt very cared for the whole time. It was simply amazing to relax sipping a drink on the roof garden on the top...

The Portrait Roma exceeded expectations. The deluxe suite was huge for inner-city Europe with a nice separate sitting room and large comfy bed. The service was outstanding. The rooftop deck has glorious views and is a great respite from the crowds.

To begin with, the location is unbeatable. Centrally located in a beautiful part of Rome, there isn't any area that would be better. The rooms are huge by european standards and beautifully appointed. Although the hotel doesn't have a restaurant (although you can get breakfast), the rooftop terrance, which is only for hotel guests, is perfect for enjoying a negroni...

After staying at chain hotels in other cities during our vacation, the Portrait Roma was completely different - very boutique, small, and intimate. We rarely saw another guest the whole time we were there. Streets are a little tight in this area, so our cab from the airport dropped us off a couple of blocks away and told us how...

Thank you Portrait Roma for making our family’s first trip to Rome a memorable one. During our 9-day stay you delivered outstanding personalized services- from always greeting us by name to superb dinner recommendations and reservations (including gelato and macaron shops), always seemingly securing the best table in the establishment. Your rooms are amazingly sophisticated but comfortable with many of...

We were welcomed so warmly to Rome by the staff at Portrait Roma and that welcome extended throughout our 9 day stay with them. They are wonderful and after a 9 day stay can't think of one negative to comment on. We immersed ourselves into the Roman culture and the staff was there to make restaurant recommendations , reservations and...

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighbourhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighbourhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (21:00), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
