We did a lot of research before deciding on Domus Livia, and where not disappointed! Fairly central, reasonable price, clean and tidy, new sheets every day, very helpful front desk (they would happily print tickets that we bought online) and breakfast and coffee in the room every day. If you do not need a large buffet breakfast, Domus Livia is...

Our room was warm and cozy. The place was clean and the staff were so friendly. Location is Via Nationale which is a very safe street even late at night. In front of Domus Livia is the bus stop with bus 40 and 64 which goes to Coliseum, Vatican City, Campo dei fiori, Piazza Navona and Piazza Venezia amongst other...

Stayed here in September 2014 with our nine month old baby girl. staff was very friendly and helpful. Clean comfortable quiet and central. The front desk is part time (usually manned 8am to 8pm) so I would understand some frustration from other reviewers but if you let them know the will accommodate. Great value, I would recommend.

When Staff was present--Check-In, Room Cleaning, & Breakfast very nice. Beds awful--board like, useless. If you have ANY health issues, bad back, or need hot water for your face & eyes, bring it with you. No hot water for three days. Zero! Made me cry. No one available for help via Desk or by phone either. Phone never worked in...

Our family of 4 was having a short stay in Rome and we needed a hotel that would be close to bus and metro transportation AND be safe for us and our children. Upon reaching the property, we were warmly greeted by Signora Marissa, who immediately pulled out a map and highlighted transportation spots and sightseeing must sees. She explained...

The service was very good, the room we had (a change because the one we were to have had a broken air-conditioner) was just fine and the service in the room was excellent. Clean and well maintained. Beds comfortable, tub-shower so if that is an issue beware, and the breakfast (included) was continental and taken in the room and beverages...

Small hotel located on 5th floor of large secure building in city center. Perfectly located with easy walk to subway, main train station, tour bus stop, and many restaurants. Our room was small by American standards but very functional. Our room was well decorated with high end furnishings. The bed mattress was very firm so if you like soft mattresses...

Thank you very much for your wonderful review. We are very happy to have made your stay pleasant, quiet and safe. Thanks for the advice recommending the courtyard room, but you have not had the chance to discover that the other rooms, facing on the street, are very quiet because they have soundproof windows. Hoping to meet you soon in...

Just returned from a fabulous short break in Rome but would have been even better had we stayed somewhere else. Our "Luxury Suite" was, in reality, a family room somewhat smaller than a Travel Lodge with more traditional furniture, very tired decor (peeling wallpaper) and accompanying layers of dust. The location was the most positive feature.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
