This hotel is very close to the train station. There are lots of cafes and restaurants around. Beds are comfortable with nice bedding. Room is serviced daily. A/C wasn’t on yet (March) but they did provide a fan. Spacious bathroom. Breakfast is fine, somewhat plain. Staff is very helpful.

The Impero hotel in Rome is amazing. Whilst it isn’t the most glamorous or modern, the location is perfect for getting around the city. A short walk from the Metro, and all major sites can be walked to easily within 20-30 mins depending on how fast you walk. The staff are incredibly friendly and very helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was a super selection of fruits, breads, cheeses and much more. The roof terrace is very relaxing to chill out and relax in. The hotel has a mini-market across the street, lots of restaurants and other shops nearby as well, the perfect place to base yourself in Rome.

I’d rate this place 0! The rudest staff I have ever dealt with. I booked a room for my parents for their trip to Rome for their anniversary! 16 days before the stay they attempted to take €470 a random figure from my bank account. I had insufficient funds as I had selected the pay when you stay option on booking.com. The hotel insisted they needed payment or they would cancel! I send screenshots of where it said I’d pay at property. I then gave in & provided a valid debit card with sufficient funds they claimed this had been declined. I tried a further 2 card including my credit card and they didn’t even run that one just claimed it’d been declined.. started getting aggressive with me typing in full capital letters claiming I didn’t provide them with payment? It’s a credit card just charge it! 🙄 They kept threatening me saying I had 24 hours to pay or they’d cancel? Like I was being help hostage or something! They then, after ignoring my multiple emails cancelled my booking! THE RUDEST ITALIANS IVE EVER MET!! 😡 they give Italy a bad name! Wouldn’t even give an explanation as to why they cancelled it?! Do not stay here unless you want to be treated like crap! How a hotel can get away with treating people like that is beyond me! Don’t booking unless you want the stress of finding somewhere else 2 weeks before your stay! Luckily I upgraded to an actually nice hotel and my parents are looking forward to their stay elsewhere.

My wife and I used the Impero for a home base in Rome for four days in two different stints. I honestly don't understand some of the negative reviews, to the point where I wonder if some of them are fake. The hotel is clean, efficient, and charming, and the staff we interacted with were all very helpful and friendly. Rooms: Small, but clean. The beds were comfortable. The air conditioning worked fine. The showers had plenty of hot water and water pressure. Staff: Very friendly and helpful. Location: Just a few minutes walk from the Roma Termini, and within walking distance to most of the main attractions including the Coliseum, Pantheon, Forum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, etc. Vatican City is about an hour or so by foot, but we walked it and enjoyed a stroll through several cool Roman neighbourhoods. The area around the hotel is fine too. In fact, we found the immediate area bustling and full of energy. We never ever felt unsafe or nervous. Breakfast: Fine. The coffee machines make good coffee and the spread of pastries, yogurt, fruit, cold meats, etc. were all tasty. I don't know what people are expecting from a European breakfast, but it suited us just fine. Breakfast room staff were always very friendly. I think the Impero is a great and reasonably priced place to stay in Rome. Friendly staff, clean rooms, easy access to all of the major attractions. We would definitely stay there again.

Front desk attendants were very friendly and did a great job of remembering who we were, our room number, etc. They were quick to offer help, called us a cab a number of times, and give recommendations. Room was very nice. Bed was comfortable and sheets were soft. Room was quiet for sleeping. Walls were a bit thin as we could hear the family next door laughing with their children. Balcony door did not latch closed so we had to prop a backpack against it. Bathroom was nice size. The hot water stopped working our first morning but the hotel staff was quick to address it as soon as we reached out. Shower was small and toilet seat was not connected well so it slid around when in use. Breakfast was delicious and had a large selection of items. Coffee was ok and coffee machines were not always accurate in what we selected. Would definitely stay again.

Hotel Impero single handedly RUINED our family reunion in Rome!!! The hotel itself is conveniently located close to Rome Termini train station and the metro WiFi and breakfast are basic and do the job. Rooms: - dated - cleanliness was very basic, dirty in some places - no kettle/ tea/ coffee facilities in room - electrical outlets not all in good repair In summary an old dated hotel. The district seems rough enough…I personally wouldn’t roam this district after dark If the hotel had behaved in a decent manner I’d have happily given a 4 star review but what they did was totally out of order….. We were a large family group (16 people, adults & children) meeting in Rome from all over Europe, for a family reunion, first in 10years where we were all to be together. We had booked the rooms 6 months in advance at a reasonable rate and 6 days before arrival date the hotel tried to take “full payment” from the credit cards, not a pre-approval … but an actual full payment!!! Despite their booking information saying full payment was not required Some of the households involved with this trip had been budgeting carefully to achieve this trip and did not have the budget to pay the full amount on their credit card before arriving in Rome, and without any discussion hotel management cancelled the booking, because the attempted full drawdown of the hotel charges 6 days before arrival had been refused by the credit card company. Despite several emails & phone calls, they insisted the booking was cancelled and a new one would need to be made. Original booking was €275 and new one would be €800. The were VERY rude and ignorant in all of these communications, bringing to a new level the ignorance I’ve experienced in situations like this. As can be imagined this ruined the trip for the whole family group as some parties in the main group had to find alternative accommodations at a considerable distance away at such short notice … leaving a sour taste on our Rome reunion trip Never again will we ever trust in a trip to Rome, Hotel Impero were the quintessential IGNORANT ROMANS !!!

Super location, very good access by buses and there are two metro lines nearby. As for the room, on the first day we got a small room without a window, but on the second day a very nice service changed our room to a normal 127, large room with a window - in inside there was a lot of space to unpack suitcases and cosmetics. The room was clean and the air conditioning worked flawlessly. The breakfasts were of average quality. The staff was really helpful. The location and the staff are the strong points of this hotel. It is worth going to the terrace on the 5th floor - nice view and a nice atmosphere for a glass of wine or a drink in the evening. Neighborhood not too bad - some good restaurants nearby. Closer to the station it gets worse, so the hotel is just a bit further away, so there are fewer people, bustle and tramps nearby. Breakfast - While the sweet options are tasty, the salty menu is of poor quality. Mega cheap mortadella and ham and eggs cooked for far too long are the weakest ingredients. Avoid room 506 (located at the very top on the terrace). It was an option for us on the first day, but due to the heat, cramped conditions and with a window overlooking only the terrace, it would not have been a comfortable stay. We got room 102 (no window) and it was better (cooler), but only emergency. Room 102 without a window is a better choice than 506 on the terrace, where other people would walk under the window;)

I stayed 5 night there with my wife. The location is very good, you are 15 minutes away from most points of interest. They clean the room daily BUT still, there are some spots in the room that they are TOO dirty, like under the desk and under the bed. The most important problem we faced was with the power sockets in the room, half of them did not work, but those that did work offered VERY slow charging of devices. Unacceptable for such an expensive room. Because of that we were running out of battery on our mobiles within the day. The wall is covered with a very old fabric wallpaper, from which hang whole balls of dust. If you hit it, you see the dust flying. Breakfast is okay if you like sweets. There are no salty choices, no omelets, nothing. I have seen much better breakfasts in cheaper hotels. We decided to pay and eat at other places. I'm not recommending it and i will not stay there again.

The location was ok. The breakfast selection was very few. We stayed at the third floor and the hallway and the room were smelling bad. There wasn't a window in the room, the only window was in the bathroom. It was not a pleasant stay after all.

The hotel overall isn't a bad, little bit old but the rooms are clean. Room size is ok for the price. No water kettle available in the room. For the staff, you can't say anything more than average. The man at the time we checked in was friendly. At night shift there was a lady who talks very loudly and wasn't friendly at all. The breakfast was minimal, there were no choices of cheese except for the processed kind. Staff at the breakfast were friendly and helpful. Small elevator, very good location.
