This hotel has a last minute reservation and was assured the room would be non smoking, with a king size bed, and AC. When we paid and were given the keys to the room, we walked in and saw two twin beds put together...this was our "king size" bed (see picture). In addition, the "AC" unit did not work no...

This is one of the worst hotel ever stayed. Wifi wasnt free as advertised. Had to pay for it. The bed linen was so itchy. Definately did not had a good night sleep . Brkfast was said to be €5 per head as per the email convo with hotel staff but after we got there they tried to charge us...

The hotel is near the terminal and that's the only advantage of all the other disasters. The staff is unhelpful, and tedious, especially for breakfast that is a disaster. Breakfast is very bad. The rooms are neat but there is no lamp in the lamp near the bed, the television has no remote control in the 21st century. The plaster...

Based on all the negative reviews, i beg to differ. I recently spent two nights in Rome at the Stromboli Hotel. I chose the hotel because of the location, so i could easily get too and from the airport and a last minute alternative. Since i travelled alone i thought that i't wasn't a big deal with all the comforts...

Made the mistake of booking the hotel cause of the price and not looking at the the reviews! The Filipino hotel staff was unfriendly and grumpy. I went down to ask if they have hot water and his response was buy it from next door. Asked him for a spoon he said buy it from next door. Asked him why...

The Hotel looks very nice in the adverts but is nothing like it.Some of the staff were very nice and helpful others offhand. The lift to the first floor was rather dodgy did not use it after the first time. The room was very small no carpet on the floor and in parts the tile were cracked and sticky. very small...

Some of the staff had no intentions at all of helping their guests with such things as receipts, remote control to the tv or answer where to find a supermarket. The smell in the lobby was kind of interesting. The elevator was just creepy. I have lived in budget hotels often, and have no problems at all with worn decor...

This is a nice hotel . Very close to terminal where you can get the bus to anywhere. The hotel is clean and lovely friendly staff who help in every way possible. Breakfast was coissonts with lovely fillings also toast and cereal available with a range of coffee and tea. Would definitely book into this hotel again.

Walking up to Hotel Stromboli we felt like a million dollars having just arrived after a long train and ferry journey from Athens. We just wanted some digs and peaceful night. That quickly changed after 2 minutes at reception with Mr Grumpy, who only one can assume he doesn't like guests in his palace. With my tired head I shook...

Very central location, located across the road from train station and bus terminal. The hotel has everything you need for a cheap city break. The rooms are small and basic, had fridge and hairdryer. Breakfast was ok too. All staff obliging and pleasant. So basically if you are looking for affordable central accommodation this is fine, can't believe some people...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
