On arrival the receptionist was very helpful and showed us to our room, this was nice, comfortable and clean. The bed was solid and wide, the bathroom facilities were great and could not fault the room which was on the third floor and accessed by stairs and a small lift.

Only stayed here for 1 night but I am so glad it was only for one night. It was my worst hotel stay to date. The receptionist were rude, the cleaners were still there at 4 pm and it was not very easy to find.

Room is really old, everything seems really old in apartment, starting with cupboards ending up with bed. Though room is pretty cozy (We had really bad stay in venice so this was really great place at the start). Though smell in bathroom is unbearable, apartment was fairly clean, but something from the sewer just kept the smell in bathroom for all...

It's the second time I come here and I find myself at home. I visited 2nd time Rome because my girlfriend wanted to see Rome too. We have booked a matrimonial room with A/C for the extra cost of 5 euro per day (not too much for the temperature that is in Rome ). I like this hotel because when...

An easy five minute walk from central station and handy to some nice eateries. Hotel staff are friendly and courteous and the room we stayed in was clean and quiet, ensuite was basic but adequate. For somewhere to sleep peacefully after a long slog through Rome Hotel Papavero performed well in my opinion.

the location is good. the staff was kind and helpful but the room and especially the bath was small and dark. the elevator was not available for the guests.the manager let us keep our baggage there for two nights after the check-out and that was very helpful for us.

I have been to Papavero in the beggining of March of 2015. I 've choosen the cheapest room which actually was "you get what you pay for"! Actually it turned out that it was not a hotel in the classical sense. The reception was in a different place some 30 meters from the gate of the building that the apartments...

Alitalia decided on a 24-hr strike the evening prior to our departure, that meant scrambling to find a night at a decent hotel near Termini. After reading the hotel's mixed reviews we decided on a booking. We were not disappointed. The morning of check-in the staff gave us a warm welcome (unusual for Italy) and pointed out the facilities of...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
