There is no sign out front. It's an apartment building and the rooms are on different floors. We had to keep checking name tags until we found rooms w signs. Then we hit the buzzer and the lady was up on the 6th floor shouting down the stairs to come up. We had 3 keys for 3 doors and she...

Firstly, you are within walking distance to the Colosseum! If you like to sightsee, book the tickets online in advance. There are 2 types - 1 is for admission into the place the other is for admission + a tour of the underground area of the place where you can see where the gladiators were held. Vatican city is also...

This B&B is one of nine in two converted apartments not very far from Termini station. It has everything you need for an inexpensive(by Rome standards) stay. The room is not large but is comfortable. It has all the amenities of larger hotels including tea & coffee making. The shower is tiny but adequate for average people . Breakfast is...

Home away from home! It is the best lodging experience in Rome. We did not receive such warm and loving treatment anywhere. Jerry, the director, is undoubtedly one of the nicest people we met, always smiling and want to help. The location is great (close to the Piazza della Republica and walking distance from Piazza Venezia). We took a triple...

The hotel was a little hard to find at first.. It's located in a larger building (so look at the signs on the door properly). Once we found the hotel, it was so much better than we had anticipated. We had such a fantastic stay at this lovely little hotel. Such a fantastic location, only a short walk from Rome's...

Stayed here during New Years. After a somewhat wobbly check in when our co-traveller's reservations seemed to have gotten lost, we were handed the keys to a nice and clean room. A perfectly decent continental breakfast (little in the way of fresh fruit, but good coffee that came with warm milk). When the we came down 40 minutes late for...

We booked through the excellent Travel Republic and what a find this is. We were met by the glamorous Alba, she gave us a key for the front door so we were free to spend as much time as we wished exploring the city. It's such a fantastic location that 15 minutes walk gets you to most of the main...

Had a nice stay, very friendly staff, and breakfast included made a weekend in Rome very nice in all. All major attractions are within walking distance, and the bed is really great! so you are completely ready for a day of sightseeing after a good nights sleep.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
