this small b&b is a gem. it has but a few rooms. the breakfast is excellent and Alberta is obliging if you have special requests. it has a nice shaded quiet patio. the room i had was vey spacious mote then enough for me. a perfect place for a short stay in bologna. the b&b is groundfloor only, but it has steps in and out of different parts if the building. the building is very old (as can be seen in the very thick walls).
It is a fantastic place with a charming and helpful hostess Alberta (not to mention an extremely friendly Cat Ponyo). Very nice and cosy atmosphere and a delicious breakfast (homemade produce including jam jam and apple pie). Definitely recommended for a trip with girl friends.
Alberta is a charming hostess who really went out of her way to be helpful and to ensure our stay in Bologna was as enjoyable as possible. You should definitely trust her recommendations of restaurants as the best meals we had were in the little trattoria which she told us about. The room (camera rossa) was spacious and we had a little heater in case it was cold during the night - which we didn't need to use. The B&B itself is really full of character and history. You have to use 4 different keys to get to your room, which makes it feel very secure. Breakfast consisted of toast, ham, cheese, fresh fruit, jams (including Alberta's superb homemade Sicilian orange jam), yoghurts, tea and coffee, blood orange juice - but, in addition to all this, Alberta also made us (not on the same day!) a seriously delicious strudel served still steaming from the oven, fruit salad, eggs and prosciutto and, for Easter, she also served us the traditional colomba, chocolate eggs and chocolate croissants. We would definitely go back if we return to Bologna. P.S: bonus points for the cute cat :) On the other hand, the shower was on the small side and, as should be expected from such an old house (the history of which is fascinating), some of the decoration can be a little dated. Having to pay in cash only can be inconvenient as you have to carry a large amount of money around and there are many pickpockets operating in Bologna (BEWARE THE BUS). The price is perhaps a little steep, but not enough to prevent us from returning.…
Very unique bed and breakfast, apparently was originally part of a monastery built in 1300. The bedroom was beautiful, warm and the bed was very comfortable. There was a lovely hallway that was part of our space which gave us plenty of room to spread out with 2 large suitcases and two carryons. Our host Alberta was warm, friendly, kind and made an amazing, fabulous breakfast - not to be missed. She also gave us a great recommendation for a nearby restaurant. The location was great - very easy to get to the main square and the leaning towers.
It's been already a few years that i come to Bologna almost every week for work. I always choose to sleep at the AlbertaD for it's position in the city but mostly for its chill atmosphere. It feels like home almost. The owner, Alberta, is always nice and helpfull.
I stayed there for one night in January 2016. We could choose the room we preferred and ended up staying in the red room which was very cosy. The landlady was friendly and the breakfast delicious with an home made fresh cake. Great attention to details. The location is superb and the area very pleasant. Laura
What a find tucked away in an old building in the centre of Bologna. former model and handbag designer Albera is the perfect host, making her guests feel perfectly at home with warmth, professionalism and great style. The place is also her home, and you really feel part of the family without losing any privacy. I loved my room, more of an apartment, with its own little courtyard and antique furnishings. I spent three nights there and wish I had discovered Alberta's prior to booking my other Bologna accommodation. The breakfasts are rather fabulous too. Her homemade tarts, jams and strudel were impossible to resist. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
I spent few nights in Alberta's place. No regret staying! I am happy with my choice and definitely recommend it to others. The atmosphere of the place itself is authentic and very cosy, you are treated very nicely by everybody and especially by Alberta, who takes a very good care of every of her visitors with her smile and hospitality! Loved my breakfast, as I called them - queen's breakfast, served it Alberta's home made jam, which was absolutely delicious! Definitely coming back!
Alberta is simply Wonderful! Her B&B is super clean, modern and has free wi-fi. She provides a homemade breakfast and also asks for your favorites so she can make them for you. Although my partner and I do not speak Italian we were able to communicate just fine with Alberta...Her daughter also speaks English very well. She made us feel at home, welcome and sad to leave. We can not wait to go back and visit Bologna and stay at the B&B again...It made our trip!!!
Found this B&B to be agreeable, the son who speaks decent english is welcoming enough and the endearing mama who speaks no english makes you feel welcome. The room we had quite fairly average, it was obvious that it was perhaps some storage cellar or extension in a past life that was converted into a room. It wasn't well ventilated and the bed and pillows were not all that comfortable. IT felt rustic but not not so much in a good way. It is walkable to the centre but there would be many more options that are closer. Don't think i'll be back anytime soon.
