We were seeking a small B&B within the city and this suited our purpose. Well located as I said (and, next to a very nice restaurant - Merlo) and within walking distance of the popular attractions. The ambience was that of a typical Italian home and very well managed by Sabrina who was most helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was simply special - a wide variety of local dishes were on offer; well prepared and delicious. Came out with full marks in our book.
Located on a quiet side street just a coupe of blocks from the Piazza Maggiore, a stay at La Stradetta is like having your own apartment and living like a local in this fascinating city (at least for a little while). We stayed for a week, using Bologna as a base to explore the surrounding cities and towns of Emilia Romagna. The proprietor and hostess, Sabrina, made us feel right at home in her small, two unit B&B, offering advice and insight about her home city of Bologna, and preparing the most wonderful breakfasts, featuring the special meats, cheeses and pastries of the area. An added plus was the great selection of jazz playing on the music system every morning. Bologna is a city that is proud of its Jazz heritage and Sabrina is a great and knowledgable fan. Bologna hosts an internationally recognized Jazz festival and Miles Davis and Chet Baker, among others, have stars prominently placed in the pavement on one of Bologna's main thoroughfares. In any case, jazz or no jazz, A stay at La Stradetta will be one you will not regret (or forget).…
You're assured of a genuienely warm welcome by the propietor Sabrina, she's all you need for information on what's going on and what to see in Bologna. The property is located in a quiet street in the "centro storico" a few minutes away from the main sights, of which there are many in this wonderful city. Bologna is a must for lovers of history plus good food and wine, as well as an ideal base to visit other equally interesting places in the Emilia Romagna region.
La Stradetta is a wonderful place to stay in Bologna. Sabrina is great. She is informative, helped me get organized for my Ducati & Ferrari tours and made a lot of good suggestions for sights to see in and around Bologna. My room and bathroom were great. The room was large and bathroom was modern with good water pressure and hot water - in Italy you never know what you're gonna get... My breakfasts were fantastic with Sabrina's mother's awesome baking - la torta della nonna was my favorite :) The location is great - close to restaurants and all shopping and not too far from the train station. Ti ringrazio ancora Sabrina, sei molto simpatica e accogliente, mi ha fatto un piacere conoscerti :)
This was my first trip to Bologna, I've stayed in B&B's before, and I was very happy with this recommendation, of B&B La Stradetta. The owner, Sabrina, is a perfect host, especially since I have food allergies and my needs were met. Grazie The rooms were big, quiet, clean and comfortable.
With La Stradetta, you would truly feel the warmth of staying with a local as Sabrina shared so much about Bologna and gave us helpful directions to the places we wanted to visit. As an artist, her place was brightly decorated with her own artworks and the breakfast was simply wonderful with a full spread of home-made local delights (with produce from her family farm). We stayed for 3 nights and were never disappointed with her recommendations for delicious places to dine and visit. Just take care not to bring too much as Sabrina's place is up a flight of stairs :)
This is the third time and the third b and b we visited in Bologna. We love Bologna and this B and B is one of the best. Sabrina is lovely, helpful and made a delicious breakfast with eggs from her farm and homemade muffins. The room is very large, the bed comfortable and the bathroom luxurious. The location is perfect, close to the bus, Piazza Maggiore, little cafes, bars and the train station.
This B&B is very nicely located a few blocks from the main shopping area but you are very close to restaurants and the shops. It is quiet. The room for 3 was off the living room but is very private with double doors and its own bath. The breakfast was very nice with anything you could possibly desire. Sabrina is lovely and very helpful and will make a teservation for you for dinner or sightseeing. There are 16 steps up to her apartment if you have trouble walking or carrying.
I had a very nice weekend in Bologna, and found that La Stradetta was a wonderful place from which to explore the city from. Sabrina was very helpful in recommending places to visit and also restaurants. All of her restaurant recommendations were top notch. You can't really go wrong with food in Bologna. La Stradetta is a beautiful little spot in a quiet street but with 5-10 mins walk of most of Bologna's main attractions. I'll be back for another visit later in the year...Ciao...
Thanks Sabrina for a super stay - 4 days/nights. as a single traveller I was made to feel ao welcome. an excellent central location, really cosy and quiet location and gorgeous breakfast (homemade jams, pastries and daily local specialities) Highly recommended and she even let me leave my luggage behind on the day of departure as my train was later!
