We were looking for a cozy and comfortable hotel near the station and we found it in Astor. It's about 20 minutes far from the train station and up to 25 minutes from the centre. The hotel itself looked good, the bathroom was nearly enormous and colourful. The only disappointment came in the form of breakfast for five euros where there was not enough food to choose from after previous guests and there was no salty food.
It was only a short stay, he had 2 rooms as there were 6 of us. Lobby staff were great. Breakfast didn’t have much options but enough varieties to fill you up. The Rooms and bathrooms we had were very spacious and clean. It was worth the money. There is also a free car park outside the hotel.
Located near the big university, this is a great location for walking into the city center, taking the bus back, taxi to Ferrari Casa museum. Driving to various other spots inside and outside the city was easy. Breakfast a little on the light side. Stayed five nights.
This was a very nice hotel just about a kilometre from Bologna railway station. Clean rooms, friendly service, good breakfast. Service was in good English. The room had free minibar, which was nice. I would come back if going to Bologna again.
Good location, at a short taxi ride from the airport (taxi cost: around 16 euro) and a short walk from the railway station. So, a good stop for someone arriving late on Bologna airport and needing to go to one of the many cities from Emilia Romagna. The room was very spacious, clean, with refrigerator and everything you would expect from an Italian 3 stars hotel. The breakfast - again, normal for an Italian 3 star hotel (it seemed not so great for the group of German tourists having breakfast there). All in all, it is a convenient solution for a stop in Bologna.
Initially, when trying to find a hotel during the hectic trade show. This was the closest we could find with availability, but it did us proud! This hotel had everything we could ask for and the service was great. Not too far from the trade show either (taxi rather than walk). The breakfast was spot on. This is not a luxury hotel, (but its not pretending to be either) but it offers everything you need. Rooms are spacious, breakfast is good, and the staff are absolutely lovely. I was happy with our stay, the service and the staff. I would not hesitate to rebook!
Hotel is located within walking distance to Bologna Centrale train station and major historical sites. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly, the room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was very good and reasonably priced.
We had a nice, relaxing stay at Hotel Astor for New Year! The front desk staff was kind and very helpful! The room was spacious and clean. It is not in the center of the downtown area, but it is very close to the train station, and there is a bus stop that will take you directly downtown right outside of the hotel. It was very convenient and easy to navigate. We would absolutely recommend Hotel Astor!
Visited bologna few days ago and booked astor hotel for 3 nights. The staff was rude and wasnt helpfull,we wanted to book a room for one extra night and the receptionist made it hard for us to book it because he wasnt speaking english at all and he wasnt even trying to help us. Other than that the rooms were ok.
Awful hotel, breakfast wasn't great and had to wait to get tea or coffee. The room was awful, shutters on window were broken so forced look out at numerous fag ends. Overall dark and unwelcoming. The location is its worst point, having got off a train and unsure what bus to get my partner and I decided to walk (15 min). Not a good idea, the amount of low life's and degenerates we passed was unbelievable. Very intimidating, one cafe refused to serve us because we weren't locals. Avoid this hotel, staff grumpy, room drab and unclean and location dodgy.
