The service and kindness extended to us was far beyond what we expected. Although only a fleeting visit the hotel seemed to go out of its way to be helpful. It made a 3 hour visit to Bologna memorable. We know where we shall stay when we are able to return.
«+» Good location close to the historic center of Bologna and just a few blocks away from the train station, you can easily walk all around. Nice looking old historic building. Easy and fast check in. Nice and friendly front desk staff. My room was big enough and I felt comfortable there. The bed was soft and comfy. Nicely looking remodeled bathroom. Good quality bathroom amenities. «-» Small and a little slow elevator. Some parts of the room (including some furniture) could be remodeled. Small old TV. Slow Wi-Fi. Air conditioner could work better, it was old.
very convenient for us who wanted to travel easily. Clean with nice decoration and good price. We went easily to Venice for one day. The next day we went to Florence and the next day to Montena. It was very convenient. We only came back to sleepwe could go to the center of Bologna in 15 minutes walking
It was a pleasant week staying at the hotel. Classy and beautiful environment. 15 minutes by walk to the city centre. Our room was cleaned every day. The stuff was kind and helpful . We received the room that we booked for. I'd love the bed and pillows. Plenty space in the room. The bathroom was beautiful and clean.
A nice hotel close to the train station. You should like to walk if you stay here as it is not that close to old town centre and most restaurants. The room was clean and nice. Did not try the breakfast. All in all happy about the stay and would stay here again.
The only good thing about this hotel is a very impressive lobby. That’s it though. There is no coffee machine in the room, no conditioner or moisturizer, no robes, no exercise equipment, no swimming pool and small tired rooms. It is close to the train station. It is a terrible location to anything but the train station. Much better choices for a hotel in Bologna. I’ll never stay at a Zen Hotel again.
The entrance hall is nice as was the gentleman who greeted us with a nice small and good advise for dinner. The room was clean and average size but very hot and the TV didn’t work. We asked a member of staff to help but he couldn’t and told us the air conditioning was broken. It was a very uncomfortable night indeed despite a comfortable bed. The next morning we left and I spoke to the lady on reception about the air conditioning etc.. She was miserable and no smile at all.. She told me they were not allowed to put it on so early in the season!!! I asked at another hotel and they said it was not true. I guess the
There was no soundproofing. We could hear every word from next door. Not enough electric outlets. If you want to have your phone plugged next to the bed, you must unplug the lamp. Impossible to work for the same reason, plus the TV is standing on you desk. The hotel is close to the railway station, not close to anything else, room was clean. Very outdated decor
We chose hotels this trip for closeness to train stations. We didn’t want to waste time doubling back to get luggage before departing. Bologna was a good place for easy access to the Cessna War Cemetery. The staff were pleasant. Left luggage was available.
The two points are for the soap and related products in the bathroom and the cleaning lady who was not only great at her job but also very friendly and approachable. She should train frontline staff. Check in was inadequate- I had to ask for a map and description of how to get to the main square and attractions. When I asked about public transport I was dismissed really saying it costs less than €2 which was not my question. I have a walking stick and wanted to know which buses would get me back and how to use the service. When my travelling companion came back from catching up with a friend at about midnight who happened to be in Bologna he was confronted by the front desk with a shout: Room number? Not good evening sir can I have your room number please?? And then explain why - it was an embarrassment. The safe didn’t work properly I asked about it and waited for 20 minutes for someone to come - no one did. This hotel caters for conferences etc and I think they are far more interested in keeping corporate clients happy and not tourists. Look elsewhere is my advice.…
