Booked Il Bologna 2 in July through Bookings.com for an overnight stay in September on our way from the Cinque Terre to Venice Paid in advance to get a reduced rate. My credit card was immediately charged for the room plus a Euro100 security deposit. (I questioned this with Bookings and they said it was in the T&Cs with the hotel that they would charge the security deposit at any time after booking). No one was around when we arrived at 2:30pm and no answer to the intercom. We entered the building tailgating another person. Found the floor of the hotel by going floor to floor(7th), no one answered the door to the hotel but the manager opened the door on his way out. Said "room is not ready yet, come back in an hour here are the keys" When we came back the cleaner was just finishing and checked us in but said our security would be refunded on departure Included breakfast supplies were available but most were out of consumable date. No one was around when we left early next morning so I left a note requesting the security deposit be refunded to my credit card. No refund despite following up. (PS we checked in at:4:00 in the afternoon and left at 7:30am for an early train. The room was clean and tidy ).

Owner did not respond to communication (including numerous phone calls and emails in English and Italian) regarding meeting until last moment (only responded "OK" and did not provide any instructions how to enter the building). Did not respond to building intercom calls at agreed upon time. Luckily someone exited the building, and we were able to come up. Charged twice for the stay and did not acknowledge this (we are disputing one of the two charges). Thank God we arrived during the posted check-in ours! There were also a number of other issues, such as video camera looking inside living room (turned away at our request). Apartment appointed well, but bathroom smelled moldy pretty bad during our stay. A million of fines threatened for violations such as unwashed (or even undried?) dishes. With all this, we didn't dare to use them. I can see how some people (lucky enough to be admitted to the apartment) enjoy it. Maybe you got Alessandro on a good day/week? To us, confidence in actually staying in the apartment we booked, is very important. I fully believe the reviewers who say they were left out for the night despite agreement on meeting time. In sum, this place is definitely not worth the uncertainty, with the risk of being stuck without hotel and losing your money.

I was cheated by this Hotel. I simply made a booking and in the day nobody came to give me the keys. Even after a few calls between me and the hotel and the Booking.com and the hotel, they refused to come to give us the keys. In the place there's nobody too, and, the only way that you can talk with someone is by phone, this, when they answer. In this Hotel says that the hour of check in is between 14:30 and 20:30, so as my airplane arrived at 22:00, I couldn't do it in this period, so I sent a e-mail to the owner asking him if it would be possible do it later, as he said yes, that would be no problem. Even after a huge explanation to the Booking.com with proofs, this hotel refused to give us the money. If the hotel had the acquaintance that my plane only arrived at 22:00, and even so they accept my booking, I can promptly assume that the hotel stole my money deliberately, otherwise they should refuse the booking. At this moment I don’t even know if the hotel truly exists, because as I previously said I didn’t see anyone in the local, so, it might be happen that probably someone are enjoying my money while are laughing at my face. So, as this hotel are enjoying my money, he probably are enjoying the money of many other people, and probably thinking in enjoying your money, so I advise you to be very careful. Amazing these guys that kept my money and let me by myself in a place that I didn't know at night with my entire luggage and wondering for one place to sleep. Really nice when you did all that the hotel had requested in order to guarantee a late check in and of course have already paid the same. Of course I don't live in Bologna, because if I lived I certainly would make a complaint to the authorities by fraud, but of course I'll do everything with my bank to see if them can rescue my money. For the final I just want to tell that I will not stop until I see my money in my bank account.

Well, I advise you to be very careful with this B & B if you need to do a late check in because you can take the chance of paying the room and sleep on the street because, as happened with us, the owner Carlo, refused to come to the local and give us the keys even with a previous agreement about a late check in (I have the confirmation by e-mail by Carlo that would not exist any problem in arrive later between 23H and 23H30). I arrived at this b & b at 23H15 and nobody was there, so I called Carlo to open the door and he told that he would not go to the hotel to give us the keys because we didn't say that we would arrive later! Well, I was perplexed! I had an e-mail confirmation with the time arranged, I arrived in time and this person, with his arrogant speech, refused to come even knowing that what he was saying was not true and knowing that we were not italians too. So, we walked down the street with all our luggage looking for another place to sleep and I can say to you that we walked around about 2 hours in the night until we found another hotel with the help of a police officer. Later we called Carlo to refund our money (what did not happen until today), once he forbad us deliberately to enjoy a service that had already been paid. In that time he said that he would refund the money but now he's saying the opposite to Booking.com, and he doesn't even replies to our e-mails. I will not rest until I get my money back, because this was not a correct attitude to have to anybody. What this property did to us is completely deplorable.

I was looking for a comfortable place with a good price, I found the B Bologna 2 and I could not find better. The room was beautiful and with a modern bathroom and clean, equipped with kit like I was in a luxury hotel. large areas to relax and above the convenience of the station and the city center. Alexander the owner was friendly and helpful, pointing to the most beautiful places of the city. Also we had to alessandro a discount at a restaurant in the center where we ate very well. B Bologna 2 recommend it very much.

We had a great time spending our holiday season on this b&b... it was easy to reach which is actually in front of the train station and it was really convinient and easy to roam around the city... it was a well secured type and what i like about most is that as i entered the b&b i found a cozy athmosphere... the rooms were perfectly clean and it was equipped with great facilities... and owner was so accomodating and we had a warm welcome,, he was very helpfull in explaining all the details in exploring the city.... to cut the story short i highly recommend this place for those who are planning to visit bologna... and most of all the rates are very good...immagine having a nice place to stay with and the at a good price in the same time...
