A beautifull spot very close to Bologna. A very beautifull spot, parking available. Our room was very nice, the bathroom was top. You have a separate entrance and you get a box to open the gate ween you want to go out. THe breakfast was very good. The people are very friendly and gave lots of info about Bologna, where to park etc... We will be back!
This place is simply beautiful. From the excellent service to the small yet tranquil swimming pool to the pristine and well kept bedrooms (with balcony) to the prestigious grounds, this is a hidden gem which must be visited!
From the moment the gate was opened for us, we were congratulating ourselves on this choice! Al Melograno was so much more than expected. Our room and bath, with its own small balcony, was conveniently reached by a private entry staircase, and the grounds of this estate were gorgeous with huge trees and an amazing array of plants, all beautifully arranged. We had covered parking for the car, too. The pool was lovely and clean and the patio inviting. Signora, our host, provided a generous and delicious morning fare (asking each evening what time we would like to eat) and told us of a number of very interesting nearby restaurants. No need to drive into Bologna from here, as the train station is a short drive away. Best of all was that Al Melograno turned out to be an excellent base point for day tripping to such as Ravenna, Padova and Modena. I can't dream of a better way of spending time in this area! Fabulous!…
Wonderrful B&B, with traditionel Italien breakfast, and very nice and newly decorated rooms, own gated parking on the property. Very nice and cosy garden. The owners were very helpful with the questions we had even help with suggestions where to go and buy good quality of cheese etc. A newly decorated house which is fantastic, and then you found out that it is a 150 years old house with history which the owner could tell about.
Last summer we decided to split our stay in Bologna into two - half the week in the city and half outside. After a hectic but fun first part, we headed out of the city to our second stop, looking forward to the swimming pool, and what a lovely place we found. The building was large and grand, when we headed upstairs to our bedroom we were delighted. It was clean, air-conditioned and spacious. It was lovely to wake up in the morning and go straight down to the pool before a generous breakfast. There isn't really anything around Al Melograno in terms of good food, so you have to head into Bologna for dinner, but don't let that put you off. A short bus ride takes you right back into the centre.
We stayed at the Al Melograno for one night in July on our way from Florence to Venice. This place was perfect. It is a just a little bit out of town, but had the advantage of its own gated parking on the property. We really liked this, since we were on a long driving vacation and had a lot in the car. The owners were wonderful -- very helpful with directions to town -- they even let us use the washing machine. We were in the room with the wooden slanted ceiling. I thought it might be hot in July, but it was not at all. The room seemed like it was just remodelled; everything was top-notch. And this place had the nicest bathroom I have even seen in a bed and breakfast -- beautiful marble and plush towels. The breakfast was delicious, too. If you are ever passing Bologna and need a place to stay, try to stay here.…
