We stayed one night at the VisaVis before boarding our cruise ship. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the terminal and a block from the ocean. The rooms are very clean, a bit small but very comfortable. Also close to many restaurants and shopping. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Absolutely zero street noise or from neighboring rooms. Highly recommend.
one of the best hotels ever, really fantastic. the rooms are large, beautiful, downtown location, Breakfast is nice with fresh fruit and lovely cakes and croissaints. This place is a real treat !. The staff is so nice, Coffee at the bar the best. Special thanks to breakfast waiter
Duchi Vis a Vis features modern rooms, some of them small and bordered by a rather dark side street. Several rooms are larger and brighter. Our bright room was equipped with an Illy coffee machine, which on request was supplied with more than 2 coffee capsules per day. The rich breakfast in the Grand Hotel Duchi d'Aosta opposite was served in the classic breakfast room and on the terrace overlooking Piazza Unità. The service of the attentive waiter Tommy was exemplary. A highly recommended hotel which is worth the price.
We stayed in the annex part of the Hotel Duchi d'Aosta and it was perfect for what we needed. It is located very close to the waterfront and the beautiful Piazza Unita d'Italia. From here, you can walk to local attractions, the many bars and restaurants nearby, and can easily get a bus up the coast, or a ferry over to Muggia. The room itself was great. A very comfortable firm bed, and a space to hang clothes. We also had a sofa to relax on, and could see the sea from our window, which was lovely. The bathroom was well appointed (though the fixed showerhead was a little too low for my 6 foot 2 partner). I really liked the storage drawer, as we could unpack all of our toiletries into it, but they didn't take up all the surfaces in the room (like most other hotels). Breakfast was pretty good (served in Harry's Bistro) in the main hotel. The breakfast staff were chirpy and welcoming and there was a wide range of food on offer.…
Enjoyed 4 nights at the end of October. The hotel (Vis a Vis) was very comfortable - the room was well appointed and a reasonable size. Staff experiences were all very positive - helpful and happy. Tommi at Harry’s for breakfast has a unique touch - outgoing and welcoming which meant everyday got off to a great start!
Super location, great ambiance, professional staff, beatiful rooms, but above all a perfect breakfast. The hospetality from Tonnie and his team is outstanding. Serving the breakfast every morning with a smile and great pride.

This is an annexe to the old and grand Hotel Duchi, you have to cross the road for reception and breakfast, not great if it's raining. Great breakfast though! Otherwise standard nice rooms, not very big and most of them with no view as on the first floor of a building pretty much surrounded on all sides. Geat double glazing so really quiet, bed too hard for my liking.
Very nice hotel directly next to the Piazza della Unita. The breakfast is actually on the Piazza and is delicious. The rooms are clean, modern and comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay. Due to the very central location, many sights can be visited by foot.
Booked a deluxe room for a long weekend away to celebrate a big birthday. Initial check in staff were not particularly friendly and had a face like thunder. On asking if we could book for the Michelin restaurant were told it was fully booked but we would be wait listed..never heard anything back. Having an aperitif in Harry's bar outside is more like self service- you have to go in to get a waiter to bring your order and the same when you pay..plus the snacks you normally get in italy was just a few sugar coated nuts which is disappointing for Italy. On booking for Harry's Bistro for the next eve turns out the reception hadn't even bothered to do so despite telling us they would.. Good job we confirmed again and checked. In the room though it is lovely and modern, beautiful bed linen and very clean, it was disappointing that the amenities such as coffee and cotton wool were not replenished nor were there ANY face tissues at all! The only saving grace were the two very friendly and helpful young chaps at reception who seemed happy to actually help a guest. Oh and the wifi didn't work, ok it was free but there wasn't even an option to get paid wifi which is frustrating if you need to check in…
