The hotel is just simply charming with a beautiful view of the Adriatic. I recommend, for dinner, the truffle pasta. Even though it’s very rich, it is incredible. The breakfast is a beautiful array of croissants, etc. with everything you would want including a great café latte. Tommy is the best waiter he will ever find. He manages to be sunny and bright no matter what.
This place is just amazing, almost flawless-the only downside are the turkish? toilets at the beach, I think for such a fairly pricy hotel the toilet situation could be more decent. Other than that everything is perfect, breakfast buffet, friendly staff, very clean rooms.
The restaurant is well located but not very good quality: For breakfast they did not serve the good Italian coffee. The scrambled eggs and bacon on the buffet were cold. Fruit salad contained apples that were not fresh and crispy. The bread was not freshly baked but came out of freezer. For lunch we ate a pasta, which had the morning bacon in the sauce. Not really up to standard. I would not revisite this hotel, because of the breakfast and of the noise.
Fabulous view and sea. Nice spacious rooms ( in the main building still with original wooden floors!) . Great service. Cocktails under the big chestnut tree at the entrance terrace are very pleasant and sofas very comfy. Main Entrance to the hotel a bit strange: first thing you see is an old sewing machine with a cactus. Monumental, beautiful trees in the park (oaks, pines, cedars) are enchanting. The beach is pleasant and run by nice young people (some decor oddities such as a synthetic grass on vip area. Who needs grass on the beach? It’s also a bit dangerous for health&safety as all crumpled. Put some non slipping pebbles?). Only big “oh no” for the food. The maitre d’h sounds Neapolitan: he could take the helm in the kitchen. Italian cuisine is generally about fresh ingredients and simple recipes. Here they try too hard and don’t deliver. Re-boot cuisine and this is a gem.…
Really enjoyed our stay here. Lovely hotel which is beautifully appointed right on the edge of the sea with a lift to the swimming area. The staff were all so friendly and willing to help with any queries or requests. The swimming area is v well run with lifeguards and helpful staff who will get you sunbeds and shade! The restaurant is also good if expensive and with a menu that does not change daily. Nice place to stay. Very relaxing vibe.
The hotel has excellent location, really relaxing place, beautiful terrace overlooking the sea, cosy room with very nice sea view. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Tommy on breakfast.
I had a lovely stay at Riviera & Maximilian’s but it’s not quite a 4*. I had a single room and it was very cozy for a 1 night stay. The room, hotel and ground grounds were immaculate in terms of cleanliness par the tv remote. The single rooms have a small terrace leading out to a small garden what was full of flora and smelt amazing. The hotel smelt amazing too! The small decked area by the beach was also very clean and you could go for a swim in the beautiful sea. There’s also a bar that you can order drinks and food from. The views from the hotels and terraces were amazing. The breakfast was plentiful and had a couple of hot items - scrambled eggs and bacon. All the staff were very friendly too. The safe in my room was broken and the bell boy/maintenance guy tried to fix it to no avail - however he was super friendly and this wasn’t an issue for a nights stay. He managed to get my items that were locked in out for me. The downside to the hotel is the food. I ordered chicken kebabs at the beach bar and they were pretty bad. For eur 15 for skewers I expected freshly grilled chicken however the meal came out in a moment or seconds and tasted awful (frozen reheated food possibly) and the roasted vegetables were slushy and inedible. I also dined at the hotel restaurant that night. It has a beautiful view and lovely staff however the food was not good. My 64deg egg for starter wasn’t cooked properly (I can’t deal with raw egg white), my steak at dinner was overdone (albeit tasty still), and my chocolate mousse tasted like pre made frozen milk chocolate dessert that a hospital wouldn’t even serve. With wine my meal came to eur 96 which is more than I have paid for Michelin stared restaurants in London! Unfortunately there’s no where else you can go to eat that is close by. My aircon also stopped working and was never fixed. You can only use the beach on the day you check in which is pretty weird. I don’t mind the fee after you check out but you should be allowed to use facilities until check out. There was also no water provided and you had to pay eur 2 from the mini bar. All in all this is a beautiful hotel with magnificent views and lovely staff. It’s great for a night or 2 (especially if you have a car so you can drive for dinner, a cab will cost you c. 20 eur each way to the city). It’s also dog friendly :)…
Beautiful location for beach and city and castle exploration, perfect terrace for aperitivo and cafe, excellent breakfast service with coffee from the heart :) - Ana above all: the wonderfully caring and friendly people at the reception, the bar, the breakfast, the restaurant, around the hotel - made us feel like home !!!!
Coming back every year and cant be more satisfied with this fantastic hotel and its services. Excellent breakfest served by superfriendly and professional Tommy, with magnificent seaview. Simply great place.
Stunning hotel! Especially the breakfast, ask for Tommy to make you his cappuccino from the heart - delightful personell. The rooms are clean and very charming. The view from each room is beautiful and a stay in the summer is highly reccomended
