Conveniently located in front of the "tram di Opicina" station (5 minutes from the train station), this charming hotel offers an excellent service and is moderately priced. In my opinion is one of the very best options in Trieste.
Central location. Room 101 as very clean and comfortable. Breakfast had a good variety of breads, pastries, cold meat, cereals, juice, fruit and coffee. Reception was helpful. If traveling by car then suggest parking near the train station in public car park as on street parking is impossible. Lots of places to eat, drink and shop nearby. If you have time visit Grado for wonderful beach.
Ideally located for exploring Trieste, the Albergo is a traditional style hotel that's been well maintained and brought up to date. It is on a busy road, but there's little traffic noise and it's only a 10 minute walk to the main train station connecting you with the airport, rest of Italy and Eastern Europe. The property currently insists on a COVID vaccination certificate to check in and if yours is not from within the EU, they will require it to be emailed to them. The check in person also requested a negative COVID test result. I had one, but this is NOT a requirement and when I pointed this out, she backed down. Anyone with any mobility issues should know that to get from the lobby to the rooms requires climbing a steep staircase. There is no disability access. Nor was there anyone to help with bags. Once you've climbed these stairs (about 10) you can then access the elevator to the rooms. Even first floor rooms require the initial stairs and an elevator ride (or walk to the first floor). Rooms are nicely decorated in an old style and very clean. They are small, but the space is used well. There was nowhere at all to put my luggage, but I found enough space on the floor that wasn't intrusive to open my case. There is a LOT of room to room noise. There is no soundproofing of any kind. You may as well be sharing as you will hear every sneeze, every cough, every word and everything else from your neighbours. When my neighbours five AM alarm went, that meant I was wide awake, too. Beds are small, but comfortable, with clean linens. There was good heating but thankfully the window could open for fresh air. The curtains do maintain good black out. There was a fridge (with expensive mini bar items) and a TV, reliable WIFI (although you have to log in every time to you return to the room and after periods of inactivity) and a small flat screen TV. There is good closet space. Bathrooms are larger than you'd expect for the size of the room and come with very large walk in showers with excellent hot water pressure. Good amenities are provided. The towels were a bit ragged, but clean. There is daily housekeeping. Breakfast was included and although there were no hot items (unless you include toast), but there was a great selection of everything else, albeit heavy on the pastries and sweets, which is normal for Italy. Frustratingly, breakfast does not begin until 7:15AM. I had to leave before 7:00AM on my last day and the staff offered me a 'take out' option, which while kind and appreciated, didn't happen. When I checked out, the breakfast room was closed and I was told I could not have anything before 7:15AM by the man handling check out. Quite disappointing. If you look old style but kept up-to-date, this is a good hotel. I got a good rate and the location is excellent. Just the noise issues take the comfort down a notch or two.…
The room is clean and well decorated. The bed is comfortable. The staff is efficient and very helpful. The price is reasonable. Excellent central position with easy access to all amenities without needing to use private transport.
The hotel is in a nice neighborhood- a short bus ride away from the beach and close to the city center. Nice breakfast, comfortable bed and room. Very helpful personnel. I loved everything. The hotel has a nice stylish design.
The hotel was in Perfect location, center to all the attractions. Truly lovely hotel and very quiet considering its location to main street. The staff was very thoughtful and helpful, and gave great recommendations for activities and restaurants. Definitely a must stay.
Nice clean rooms, kind members of staff. I liked room for breakfast and the food was also good. Not so good for parking because you have to park on the public parking places and this can be problem when parking lots are occupied. The view from room was not good (mansard).
Very nice hotel with a delicious hall and breakfast room. Nice and rich breakfast. Clean and well kept room. Friendly staff. I loved reading my book in the beautiful hall/classic European cafè at the end of the day
The hotel was in the right place near station and at the center of city which give s you money s wearth the breakfast was fantastic with all those needed in a hotel start d with the room and the staff
It is a very nice and clean hotel with great breakfast. It is very close close to the city center and also main train and bus station. The neighbourhood is nice and safe. The view from the room is not nice and we couldn't open our windows normally. It is possible to take room with the street view.
