If you should be thrown up on a distant shore - why not Triest, a fascinating place with a history waiting to be explored. You could start by dipping into "Triest and the Meaning of Nowhere " by Jan Morris. We had a fantastic week in Triest staying in a exceptionally welcoming hotel, the " Albero Nascosto" , Via Felice...

We spent a couple of nights here on our first visit to Trieste four years ago, and our memory of this friendly, comfortable, stylish place was one of the reasons we chose to return. The location is ideal for exploring the city - close to the Cavana, the old entertainment district, and the Piazza Unità d'Italia; a short (but steep)...

Great place to stay in Trieste. Clean rooms; good breakfast; friendly owners. Highly recommended. Not a hotel with spa or dining room but perfect for a visit to Trieste. Lots of good restaurants around.

I spent three nights here in late March 2017. Stayed at the residence up the hill away from the main hotel. It was a NICE stay. Enjoyed the apartment living. Small kitchen was nice with full size refrigerator. Breakfast was not included in my original booking but 'on the house' breakfast and coffee was provided to me on my last...

We stayed here for 2 nights. The room was nice and very clean. We arrived late at night but that was not a problem because the owners gave us a code to get in the door. There were 2 different women that were attending the hotel while we were there and both were very friendly and helpful. I would stay...

we were there in January and it was very cold in Trieste. Unfortunately, our room was not in the main house, but in a different house, and the "heater" was pretty noisy (electric hot air fan) and could hardly manage to maintain a comfortable temperature. Also, we had to walk down to the hotel for breakfast. Other than that, it...

This is a charming little guest house with a welcoming staff full of surprises. Perfect location for exploring Trieste. The staff is attentive and friendly the rooms clean and comfortable. Nice breakfast and chat with the lovely Serbian barista/manager. Have a look on the shelves in the restaurant to see part of the owner's superb 20th-century art glass collection.

This is a very friendly and comfortable hotel in a great location on the cusp of the older Trieste and the later Hapsburg developments. The hotel room felt more like a studio apartment and made it a relaxing place to stay, adding to the enjoyment of Trieste.

The owner, his son and all the staff at this small family hotel went out of their way to make us feel at home. Our beautifully furnished bedroom was very comfortable, a delicious breakfast each morning was served with great courtesy and the son was most helpful in recommending restaurants and places to visit in Trieste. Should we ever return...

This small family hotel is neatly placed a stones throw from the main Piazza della Unita d’Italia and is on 4 floors with 10 rooms in total. Some rooms have a small kitchen and some overlook a small internal courtyard and are therefore very quiet. Breakfast is simple but fine and the juices and croissants are excellent, with a huge...
