It was well priced and convenient to leave and arrive at the train station. It wasn’t far to walk into the town and the water was hot and the showers had great water pressure. They also had soy milk for breakfast and the coffee was nice. The staff were lovely.

The rooms are dated but that doesn’t bother me. Plenty of space to hang my dresses.

The downsides were, the room smelled of cigarette smoke and the pillows were heavy and hard as a rock. I couldn’t use them. Luckily there was a spare. I would probably stay elsewhere next time.

We stayed in this hotel during our holiday in Udine and the surrounding area.
Exactly in front of Udine station, the hotel is located inside a courtyard where there are some parking spaces available for guests (for a fee and cannot be booked in advance).
All the staff were super friendly and especially Katia gave us very useful suggestions on what to visit in and around Udine and found us a restaurant to eat on New Year's Eve.
The property is a little dated, but still well maintained. Our room was basic and clean with a very quiet small fridge and above all no carpet.
Unfortunately when we entered the room, we could smell smoke even though it is prohibited, and it was very hot. All it took was a little air freshener and closing the radiator and we solved the problems.
The breakfast was also good with both sweet and savory products and something for all tastes.
With a few improvements it is a good solution for spending a few days in Udine, staying slightly outside the historic center which can be reached on foot in about 15 minutes.
In any case, it is always the people who make the difference and give that extra plus regardless of the hotel category.

It is undoubtedly a strategic hotel when you arrive in Udine by train because it is located exactly in front of the station, just cross the road and find the hotel on the sidewalk in front.
The hotel offers paid, unattended parking and breakfast is included, simple and basic. The "queen" of the breakfast room is called Concetta who welcomes you as if you had been friends for a lifetime.
A sore point concerns the furnishings of our room, in which there was an old and faded sofa and a towel had a frayed edge...
Other than that, the room appeared clean.

Clean hotel with friendly and cheerful staff.
Comfortable single room even if the bathroom didn't have a bidet and you could often hear the voice of whoever was at reception.
Unfortunately the area (one minute from the station) is not very quiet and going out alone in the evening is not the best even if it is only 15 minutes from the centre.

I have been staying at the Principe Hotel for several years. I often come to Udine because part of my family lives here. At the Principe hotel we feel at home welcomed by an exceptional staff, Maria, Katia. Marco, Adalberto and Antonio
Thank you so much for welcoming us with so much affection and kindness.
But a special thank you goes to the splendid Concetta, the ''QUEEN'' of the bar. Every morning he welcomes me with big smiles and pampers me with his delicious coffees. I will miss our pleasant conversations made even more beautiful by his wonderful Sicilian accent, so warm and cheerful that I, also from the South, makes me feel even more at home. Thank you all, hoping to see you again in the future

50 meters from the railway station. 50 meters from the FVG bus station. Only for this maximum score. Breakfast more than enough with excellent quality. Cleaning and daily towel change with impeccable cleaning. Room more than decent. Overall for Udine prices excellent value for money. Very satisfied with structure to recommend.

Located in front of the station, therefore convenient. 10 minutes on foot and you are in the historic center. The furnishings remained from the 90s...but still everything was clean and tidy. Nothing is missing in the rooms. Decent breakfast, both sweet and savory.

3 star clean in front of the station
Great price, decent breakfast
Unfortunately the surrounding area is not much, I do not recommend it to groups of single women.
Good parking of the hotel, less good the bellows door of the bathroom that does not close completely
For a stay of 1/2 nights is fine

Large room, comfortable bed. Rich breakfast served with great courtesy and attention by Mrs. Concetta. A stone's throw from the city center, quiet and peaceful. Ample parking in the internal courtyard.

I visited Udine for three nights one weekend in January with my son. Why? at this time of year flights are very inexpensive, the three star Hotel Principe (near the station) offers a weekend deal, and on that particular weekend we were able to see the world's most expensive soccer team play (and get beaten by) the local heroes. Udine has the most wonderful Venizian square; a castle from which the snow capped alps can be seen all around; wonderful bars and resturants in the old pedestrianised quarter with plenty opf choice; ease of access to Cividale (historic centre) Tarvisio (SKi resort) and Trieste (multi-ethnic historic port). And thats just a three night visit. There are lots of other centres to be visiteed no more than an hour away. (And it is virtually unknown in the English speaking world- the Germans know it of course!) I would recommend the Principe - a family run hotel professionally run withe excellent rooms - near the bus and railway stations and ten minutes walk from the centre.
