My sister and I just had a wonderful stay here! Roberto and his wife were so friendly and accommodating! Fresh cappuccino and breakfast was waiting for us every morning. The location is great, short walk from the Corniglia train station which was greatly convenient after long travels. Also a short walk to the town of Corniglia. There are some stairs upon entrance but to be expected in Cinque Terre. Will absolutely be back to this charming location!!
Corte del gallo is around 3 minutes walk away from the train station. Super recommend if you're doing di Cinque Terre tour as it sits right in the middle of the 5 cities. Roberto is a super host and also his wife if you can speak Italian :) I think corniglia is the quitest place from all of CinqueTerre. Surely recommend.
the only saving grace of this place is the short distance to the train station. The breakfast is ok and simple, the rooms clean but small. A true 3 star hotel. ok for a couple of days only. The shuttle stops close by as well.
This hotel is very clean and modern, and the room is of adequate size. Claudia and Roberto could not have been any nicer, and the breakfast was also very good. As other people have commented, the view from the room is a little obstructed by trees, etc. - but frankly we were too busy being out and about Cinque Terra for that to be a problem. I like the fact that the hotel is very close to the train station. Would definitely stay here again if staying in Corniglia. Note: You do not need to take the shuttle bus to get to the hotel - it is easily accessible by foot. There is only one road leaving the train station. Walk north (up the hill) and the hotel will be the first building on the right. The hotel is located behind a locked gate. I get the impression that Roberto and Claudia are not always there during the daytime, so it is a good idea to coordinate your arrival with them via email. Note also that the shuttle bus from the train station to the town of Corniglia quits running about 7:00 or 7:30 p.m. That means if you are having dinner in Corniglia, you should plan to walk back to the hotel. After hiking the trails during the day, that might not be very appealing, especially if the weather is not nice. We chose to have dinner in Riomaggiore instead. Since the hotel is close to the train station and since we already had our Cinque Terra cards (for unlimited train rides), it was easier than walking to and from dinner.…
My wife and I had one of the best holidays here for a full week. Will try to confirm a number of the comments from previous posts. The layout is a small number of rooms all accessed through a common room that allows for breakfast if the weather is bad otherwise it's a walk out the front door to the Terrace. Now be clear its not a sanitized million dollar view, there are trees, the train station, neighbours, vineyards, but combined with the ocean views, Corniglia and Manarola it was really authentic and so relaxing. Roberto and Claudia are genuine with a bit of Italian passion that is sometimes missing in our manic world. The location is closer to the Train station than the town and we loved the walk each night to and from town after eating the best food in the world, there is also a shuttle bus but we never used it. It gave a sense of the local lifestyle as we were walking past vineyards and orchards and regular town folk. So in summary good facilities, great continental breakfast, very clean, lots of private space in the gardens, the only slight con is limit your expectations of sea views from the room.…
