La Torre is a wonderful place to stay for a couple nights in Cinque Terre! The room was large and bright with big windows overlooking the sea and all the way to Manarola. Modern clean bathroom. Rooftop terrace for hanging out. They let us leave our luggage in the staircase while we explored the town some more on our last morning. Note that the place is not where google says it is, nor where TripAdvisor says it is. It's right by the main square in town. GPS coordinates: 44.119769, 9.707863. From the square, go up the stairs to behind the big church, then take the stairs up to the right. It's complicated, but the owner texted us excellent walking directions the day before we arrived; the directions were very detailed and even included pictures.
Note: Free parking is only available by LUCK in any village in Cinque Terre, and this applies to Corniglia as well. There are about 15 white lined parking spots (far away from the village). Blue lined parking spots are aplenty, around 50 of them, along the side of the one single street into the village. 10Euros per day, and you have to renew the parking ticket every day from the parking machine. The locals will advise you when might be the best time to clinch the coveted white parking slots. Make sure you park within the lines or you will be fined as well, and best settle your fines within 5 days at the local Corniglia post office (they do not open everyday) or the fines will double after. It is not possible to pay online. That aside, if you have lots of heavy bags, you may park your car at the 30min unloading zone at the entrance of the village. The location of the apartment is easy to find - right at the square of the village. We had instructions to get our keys from Sharon at Caffe Matteo. Very friendly and lovely lady. The apartment seemed newly renovated. It has a tiny balcony which overlooks the square. The kitchen is well stocked with proper cutleries, a basic microwave, and a good sized fridge. The hall is quite spacious. Furniture is basic but clean, and welcoming. Bathroom is quite small, but very clean. The shower stall is very tiny. WIFI is spotty. 2bars most of the time. Bedroom is decent sized. Bed is queen sized, and very clean and comfortable. There is a window there but it opens to view of the next block. Only the balcony host a decent view. We stayed there 3 nights. Overall it was very comfortable to stay in.…
Quick and easy check in Easy to find Owner left a little note for us Basic room but had what we needed Great roof terrace with views Corniglia is best town in cinque terre as quieter than other places! But there is no direct access to sea.
We stayed here for one night after our walk from Monterosso to Corniglia. The ensuite room was all that we needed with beautiful views down the coastline. The room was clean and had everything that we needed and we enjoyed our short time there. The terrace was stunning and we enjoyed a wine while we waiting for and watched the sunset. Would definitely stay there again and recommend it to travellers.
We were able to choose among rooms, and saw that they all had air-conditioning and were perfectly cleaned. We took the downstairs room forgoing the view in favor of sleeping with the window wide open yet with complete privacy. The window overlooks two flat roofs. nb. We don't like air-conditioning during the night We stayed an entire week. We were in regular contact with Giovani who helped us in every way he could. One weekend cultural event for us was watching 8 teenagers set up their volleyball net and play (some barefoot) for an hour until sunset. Here were healthy, happy, multi-cultural (an Asian and an African among them!) Italian speaking village kids.
