My husband and I stayed here in February, which is the low season, and had a great experience. Andrea was more than helpful, giving us lots of great information about the town, restaurants, walking paths, etc. He made us feel welcome and comfortable and spoke excellent English. He even turned the heat on in our room in expectation of our...

I had a very pleasant stay at Albergo al Carugio. The hotel was located about a 10 min walk from the train station, and the neighborhood was really safe. The room was clean and comfortable, and had all the basics you needed. Andrea was a great host; he greeted us and let us settle in before taking care of the...

I recently took a solo trip around Europe in May and HAD to visit Cinque Terre. I was planning everything day to day so I was so happy when I saw that Andrea had one room left for the 3 nights I wanted. Like everyone else has reviewed, Andrea was the most helpful, warm person I've had the pleasure of...

Andrea, the proprietor is very helpful and welcoming--providing maps, restaurant and travel information. The location of this hotel is very close to the parking garage and to the trains and boats. We loved Monteresso al Mare and were very glad we stayed in this particular Cinque Terre town. The hotel was clean and comfortable and had a nice patio for...

My husband and I fell in love with Cinque Terre and this was one of the best places in Italy that we stayed. The owner, Andrea, was so nice and helpful and really made an impact on our stay here. The room was very clean and there was a bathroom in the room which was a plus. The price was...

This hotel is small and personable, well located, simple, clean, good value and, most of all, welcoming. Andrea and his staff offer a smiling face, helpful touches and advice, a map with recommendations of where to eat, posted weather forecasts, and the list goes on. He is quite willing to please. Any place can offer a room but few can...

We have traveled a lot and stayed at a lot of great places, but after a 3-night stay at al Carugio we decided we have to write our first tripadvisor review. Andrea the owner is a wonderful person, always smiling and always helpful. When we checked in he showed us on the map the places in town he likes the...

A ten minute walk from the train station and you'll meet Andrea who is incredibly happy and helpful. We were stranded at the end of our stay due to a train strike and because his hotel was booked, he found us a room at a nearby hotel. Wifi is great! Water pressure is the best of all our hotels in...

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night on our Italian vacation, and received such great service from the hotel staff. Everyone was friendly and kind, couldn't ask for better! It's situated on a main street in Monterosso but away from most of the noise, and it is easy to start the Cinque Terre hike from there....

“Ask for a room at either end of the hallway - the ones closer to the lobby door are a little noisy. Like most area hotels, they have marble (or stone) flooring throughout, so sound tends to carry more than usual. Or, just bring earplugs.”
