To be honest, this hotel was much nicer than we were expecting. Clean room, if a little snug, and a decent enough breakfast. The owner is such a nice guy. He carried our (very heavy) suitcases very impressively up a couple of flights of stairs for us (two bags at once!), which was a huge relief and help. Although we...

Fantastic location! After parking our car in the parking lot at the top of the hill, we only had to walk a few minutes down the road into the lovely seaside town of Monterosso al Mare, before reaching our delightful hotel Locande Il Maestrale. The terrace was especially lovely, overlooking the street and the town, with potted flowers, table and...

The terrasse for the breakfast is very nice! Breakfast is ok. Rooms are clean. Even if the room close to the desk is a little bit noisy. Staff is nice and helpful. Close to good restaurants. Easy access.

In Cinque Terre, we found that Monterosso (old town) was probably the best town to stay in because you got away from a lot of the "tourist" crowds. The landscape also allows you to rest (because of hiking between the 5 towns during the day) because it is a more flat landscape. There are many good restaurants that are closer...

We spent 2 nights here, but would have loved to stay longer! The breakfast terrace was awesome, overlooking the town. Giovanni and his wife Stefania were great hosts, and in particular Giovanni gave us great tips on both restaurants and things to do. Would love to come back in a flash, but the place seems to be fully booked all...

We spent 3 nights being looked after by Stephania and Giovanni and really enjoyed our stay despite being the middle of winter. Room Monterosso was great and the old building was quaint and functional. The terrace over the street caught the sun a bit and was pleasant despite the season. Giovanni assisted with choices of walks and how to get...

I choose to stay in this place for my honeymoon during my visit to Cinque Terre, but by far it was the worst place I stayed in Italy. It's more like a hostel .. there are holes in the towels and the shower always flood (I was staying in the room called Monterosso). The nearest parking lot is still very...

Lovely cosy hotel. Very nice helpful staff. We had all the necessary information to go hiking in the Cinque Terre. The terrace is a fantastic place to start the day with a espresso and an lemon juice. We loved our stay!

Beds were quite comfortable and everything was very clean. The B&B only has 6 rooms so it's quite cozy and cute. Breakfast is quite good as well and best enjoyed sitting out at their lovely little Terrance. The location is good and only a short walk to the nearby restaurants and to the beach. Ask the host to make a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The inn Il Maestrale is a small refuge for those who like beautiful things and accurate, but informal atmosphere. Stefania and Giovanni are the owners and the managers of the XXVIII sec. building, which has been recently restored following modern stardards. The terrace of the inn overlooks the historycal centre main street and the inn is a short step from restaurants and shops. The beach and the ferry boats dock are just 2 minutes away as well as the path n.2 leading to Vernazza. We will do our best to give you a special holiday at the Cinque Terre ... more   less
