We got a room with 2 tiny beds and they were both squeaky and uncomfortable. The pictures in the advertisement we saw when booking our room had a queen bed and a view overlooking the ocean. Our room looked into a back alley.
Gianni Franzi is just around 200m walk from the train station. Check in is at the restaurant/bar right at the piazza but your room will be up 100++ steps so be sure to pack light - we came prepared so we only had a backpack!...More
Hair dryers are installed (fixed to the wall) in the bathrooms. There are 2 categories of rooms; one with private bath, the others share a bathroom with other guest rooms and are across hall from room.
We checked in during the recommended time so I can't answer that. They have a number of buildings and a person takes you directly to your room. It is probably just convenient for them to have a scheduled time.
