My girlfriend and I stayed in La Spezia for 3 nights in July 2013. The room was clean - no safe, bathroom, enough storage, queen size bed. Comfortable. As a base for trekking Cinque Terre, the hotel is perfect - 10 minute walk to train station (then 5-15 minute train to villages), 2 min walk to fresh fruit markets (Mon-Sat...

Hello! I was very glad about your review even because the guy here, he worked here just since a few days and your review made us very happy! We didn't make anything special, we just wanted to make you feel at home Thank you for what you said about breakfast I hope that everything between you too is going on...

Stayed in La Spezia to travel to Cinque Terre. Was a great hotel, it was under renovation but you couldn't tell and it didn't affect us or our stay. The rooms were nice and clean, and were very traditionally italian, with sheets and beds that reminded me of my nonna's house (grandma). We didn't get a chance to have breakfast...

Slightly off the immediate radar of most tourists looking for a spot near the La Spezia stazione, Albergo Birillo is exceptionally cozy, clean, modestly priced, and yes, served me one of the better breakfasts I've had in my life! It's not a luxury hotel (nor is it priced like one), but if you're spending some time in Cinque Terre and...

We spent 4 nights here for our visit to Cinque Terre and were just blown away by the breakfasts. We'd read all the reviews, but still, there was this citrus coconut cake (you don't eat cake for breakfast? you will after staying here) that tasted like it was made by angels. So - stay here for the breakfasts if nothing...

Thank you so much, it was so sweet to read your words. We made that room in red, just that day before you came, and your smiles and satisfation helped us a lot...well we still have this ANGEL who prepares all theese cakes and works so hard behind the scenes. THank you for everything, I think this winter, we'll renovate...

We spent two nights this past week at the Hotel Birillo and have nothing but praise for this little gem. The two reception people we dealt with were very friendly and helpful. The food spread at breakfast had a lot of home made baked goods and all tasted great. La Spezia is a fairly small area, but this hotel is...

The hotel is located very close to la Spezia open air market, where we can buy very fresh and cheap fruits, veggi and seafood, and is only 5-10 min walk to the railway station for cinque terre visit. The hotel is in a old building, it just changed management and was renewing/refreshing all rooms. The rooms are very simple but very...

The hotel provided us with a convenient stop before our trip to the Cinque Terre. The room was simple but modern and efficient. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful with any queries we had. The breakfast was varied and of good quality. Highly recommended.

The owner is extremely friendly, cute and almost humble. The room I had was an average size, very clean but with a very small bathroom. Okay for a few days though. Location is excellent, short stroll from the train station and harbor. Quality wise breakfast is miles better than in any other small hotel I've ever stayed, just don't expect...

Well, thank you so much, that's what I try to explain everytime Even if the rooms are very nice, and we always try to give the best service, it's not a luxury five stars But if you'd like to visit us again, things have changed a lot, you can't imagine how much!

This was a very nice little stop on our self drive tour of Italy. The owner had only taken over the hotel about six months prior, and was doing a lot of little fix up jobs about the hotel. That said, she gave us the choice of two rooms, and we ended up selecting the smaller but nicer "Green" room...
