Boutique hotel with fab balcony views, near the port, friendly service & close to old (elevator nearby in the tunnel connecting the port & new town ) and new town. Definitely would go back! Breakfast included & probably one of the best in town. Next door to decent pasta restaurant.

As a retired couple we were really looking forward to our 3 night stay as part of our festive break 2019. We were driving over from Nice. We had booked and paid ahead of time. But we could not find the hotel, even with our GPS, trying to follow signs etc. NO map or route instructions had been sent to us by the hotel or the booking agency. We have been to many hotels over 40 years and never ever failed to find them before. The night of our arrival we drove round and round for over 90 minutes. There were roadworks and road closures. We called the hotel and requested a refund which the man agreed to as he could hear how upset and frustrated we were. We ended up going back to France for the night. We tried again the following morning because when we called to confirm full refund they told us it was not possible because we had booked it on a non-refundable basis. We reluctantly agreed to try again and had to drive back. The hotel gave us instructions to enter by a particular road, mentioning road closures and roadworks. We approached the road they suggested which also turned out to be blocked. We got stuck in a huge traffic jam and still tried to find the hotel for over an hour. In the end we gave up and complained to the hotel and booking agency. We asked, why should we pay for something we could not find due to no fault of ours? Eventually they agreed to refund us one night as a gesture of goodwill. We have received this now but we feel very upset that we have been unfairly charged for two nights. The hotel claimed afterwards that a map had been sent, but this was never received by us. Shabby, unkind, and unjust. Such a shame and so very disappointing and upsetting.

As other reviews have mentioned, the view is affected by construction of a new sailing marina. It should be excellent after completion. The rooms are renovated, comfortable and clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is about 0.3 miles from the main center of town, but on the quiet side of the river. A pleasant walk along the water to city center, good restaurants.

What a delightful hotel, in a lovely location. The staff are superfriendly, the rooms are good sized with a lovely balcony. We stayed for one night & wished we had stayed for a second (unfortunately an inventory in Monaco dictated that we could not extend our stay)

The hotel was clean and safe but overall left much to be desired. The location is awkward - while right on the water it is adjacent to a traffic tunnel on one side, an abandoned, decrepit building on the other side and directly in front the seaside is all boarded up with what seems like permanent construction. Even a bigger issue for us was the LOUD, THUMPING BASS MUSIC being played all night at the club a few doors down. It was our last night in Italy before returning home to NYC and we needed rest before catching our early morning flight from Nice. Needless to say it was No sleep till Brooklyn for us. When I informed the night staff downstairs if there was anything they can do about this outrageously loud music, he seemed perplexed that such a question would even be asked. Given the price of this hotel and considering all of its downfalls, I would not recommend it to anyone other than those passing through the border and need a place to crash for 1 night. Even then, sleep is not guaranteed if it is on a club night. Ear plugs don't do the trick because the music is so loud with bass that the hotel windows shake and vibrate.

Very nice and clean, good value for the price. Helpful and friendly staff. Good breakfast buffet with proper Italian coffee made by the staff (no coffee machine). I've stayed there several times and will come back.

We've been here for a 3 days stay, using the city of Ventimiglia as a good starting point for one day cruises to the french Riviera and to San Remo. The hotel is quite good: the rooms are clean and tidy amd we have been able to park our car directly in front of the hotel. Don't be afraid od anything: the italian police uses this hotel fot overnight stays and has their cars parking in the near surrounding. The reception is opened 24 hours. However: the breakfast ist slightly below average: the bacon has not been fresh and the yoghurt has been outdated...

We stayed for the formula one weekend. The hosts were very friendly and make the hotel. The hotel was busy and we had a nice double aspect room with balcony. It is in a great location and the car parking is fine - the hosts allowed us to park outside due to our car. We will return in the future for sure. Breakfast is typical Italian but with good coffee.

We were here for the Monaco Grand Prix as were many, so the elevated prices for that weekend, may have had an influence on my expectations. But between the price and the photos, I had hoped for something a bit more from this place. That said, it was convenient, clean and everyone was friendly and helpful. Even with the "cons" below, I'd stay there again, but at the "usual" prices. The pros: 1. Room/View: The room was set up great, good view (we were in 37), but I think that room is the only one on the 3rd floor that isn't looking right at the trees. 2. The Staff: spoke english and spanish; very helpful, good information about the town, events, train, etc. Helped out with everything we asked for. 3. Coffee/Cappuccino: Coffee at breakfast was great! As was the guy doing the serving. 4. Location: Right in front of the beach (but see below about the construction). Great restaurant right there - Margunaira. 15 minutes to the center of Ventigmilia, which has a great central market, train station, great gelato, nice shopping, etc. The cons: 1. Smoking/Non-smoking: There is no differentiation between smoking rooms here (I know because I asked about being moved to a non-smoking room). So no matter what you ask for, the room next door could be smoking which comes right in your room. One of the owner/managers is a heavy smoker who sitting at the front door at night making the smell tough for anyone who is sensitive to smoke. That said, I was stunned that the room didn't smell like smoke and, other than for a cigarette burn in the blanket, I would not have know it had been used for smoking. Same with almost all of the towels, except on the last day, we got 2 of 4 that were pretty heavy with the smoke smell. 2. Breakfast - the offering is pretty good, except for the quality of the bread items....nothing felt "homemade" or really all that fresh...but there was a lot of it. 3. Construction - they are building a marina directly in front of the hotel. There are poster boards up all in front, blocking any view from street level. There was no construction while we were there, but if there had been, it would have been complicated. 4. Noise at night - at night, with the windows open, the noise from the street was pretty loud - both traffic and people (there is a restaurant right below and the one further down the street plays music on the weekends, etc. A pair of earplugs solved the problem for me and my heavier sleeping husband didn't notice.
