Wonderful hotel with beautiful views of Lake Como. We recently went in November and were lucky with the weather. We had a stunning view of the lake and a wonderful balcony. The room was comfortable and very well appointed and had absolutely everything that we needed. The staff wa

This Family run hotel was a great find! Centrally located steps (and a few stairs) from Lake Como. Friendly helpful staff, rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. We had a room on the 3rd floor with a small balcony facing Lake Como. It was lovely spot to enjoy a morning

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Getting the suitcase up 32 steps was a minor irritation but I'm sure the hotel would have helped if necessary.

Check in was wonderful. Maggie (I think that's her name) was extremely helpful and efficient.

It's hard to pick this hotel because we're driving a car around. But the hotel provided all the details of how to drive, locate, unload, park etc...... very good instructions. Just make sure to watch people walking on these narrow streets when driving in the limited traffic zone.

We are travelling here in Sept and planning to use public transport to get to hotel. Flight gets in at 1640 - will all trains, buses and ferries still run at this time and is it an easy journey? Any advice/guidance appreciated please.
Hi, We used public transport to Bellagio in June. It is not easy ! Trains to Milan, then onto Como/Varrenna etc, are cheap and frequent, but you really need to decide where you want to get off. We opted Milan-Como as this was the most direct route for us. Arriving at St Giovanni Railway station, (you are still at least 90 mins from Bellagio), the alternatives are: 1) Taxi. There is no taxi rank at the station, just a courtesy phone. A taxi will cost 80-100 euros and takes about 75-90mins. 2) Bus. The stop is at the station, and buses run every hour or so, and the fare is 6 euros and the journey is 90 mins. The buses run on time, but serve all the little villages en route, so you have about 30 stops ! They are fairly basic, with no space for luggage, so we had to squeeze luggage between our seats with our knees on our chests. Would NOT recommend. 3) Best option is taxi to Como ferry, (or 10-15 min walk- mostly down hill and via pleasant town, but cobble paths can be tricky with luggage). Ferries run every hour or so. (ferry takes just under 2 hours, hydrofoil 1 hour). this is about 14 euros, with a premium of about 6 euros for hydrofoil. The journey from Como to Bellagio is the highlight of the holiday, and a great way to relax after the stress of long-haul, especially if you get a boat with a bar. We managed to download ferry and bus timetables and fares from the web, which proved very useful. We also purchased 6 day ferry tickets for freedom. To be honest, most of the little villages dotted around the lake that we visited were all very pretty, but all very much the same, so the purpose of the ticket is really to jump on/off and see the vistas in varying shades at different times of day. Good Luck !

I read that the Spa and Swimming pool are a 20min walk away at their sister hotel, can anybody advise
It's called the Bellagio Sporting Club...not a spa but more of a tennis club with a pool & lounge/ restaurant. The walk is inland & away from the lake (15-20 min). In July, we spent 4 days at the Hotel Bellagio and after a day of touring, we went daily to the Sporting Club. It's ideal for a late afternoon snack or cocktail and lounging around the pool deck before you head out for your evening activity. FYI...you also receive a 10% discount on food & drinks as a Hotel Bellagio guest.

I read that the hotel can provide an airport shuttle transfer. Has anyone used that and how much is it? Also, is there plenty to do around the hotel? I am hoping to visit for my birthday and have never been to Como before and have 2 days to make the most of it! And lastly, does the hotel have a pool? Thanks
also, google car services from milan to the como region. i found one at about 120 one-way and it was totally worth it.

Are tips included in the restaurant charges?
I don't think so, no. If tips are included it would clearly state a service charge addition on the bill. I must disagree with the person who said that tipping is not customary in most European countries, I live in Europe and it certainly is, if you have been pleased with your meal and service.
