We chose this Hotel after reading the Tour Operators reviews, we expected a 4 star Hotel steeped in history offering a level of service from a bygone era. Unfortunately the reality was not as we expected, yes the Hotel has plenty of charm from the early 20th century but that was it. All of the following criticism is down to...

We stayed here the first week of September, and previous reviews were true to their word! The hotel is old, a little tired in places, but so lovely. It has an Italian elegance that is just wonderful! The reception area and lounge are full of history and items of the past - Winston Churchill and Queen Victoria memorabilia, which are...

We have just returned from a week's holiday at the Lido Palace Hotel in Baveno on Lake Maggiore. What a fabulous place. We had a friendly and helpful check in and were also shown around the hotel. We had a window seat in the restaurant for all of our meals which had amazing views across the lake. The meals with...

One of the main talking points is that Winston Churchill spent his honeymoon at this hotel. There are various artifacts in the hotel highlighting this including a life size statue in the hotel grounds. The hotel does have the appearance of a National trust house however comparing the hotel to a stately home would be completely wrong The hotel is...

We spent 10 perfect days here for our honeymoon. This hotel is very grand looking and full of history, has beautiful gardens, and stunning views of Lake Maggoire, but what topped it off were the staff. They were so friendly, welcoming and really take pride in their jobs. Roberto and Bruno offer such a high standard of service, you forget...

Delightful hotel, oozing character. Talking of characters - Roberto, Paolo, Bruno and Alisia are wonderful! Nothing was too much for them - day or night! The guests themselves were superb company - although we went as a couple we made very many good friends. Home in Wales we miss the charm, the beauty, the majestic views, the kind and friendly...

Lovely stylish hotel with a difference! It has a great history and has had visits by Churchill and Queen Victoria. It is a spacious hotel and quite awesome! Spent enjoyable mornings having a pot of coffee on the terrace overlooking the lake and also an aperitivo in the afternoon. The staff here are friendly, relaxed and always on hand. Our room...

This is a magnificent example of how hotels once were on Maggiore. The quirky interior, furniture, statues, mirrors, staircases all show a historical insight into a bygone era. The hotel also offers the kind of service which is sadly missing in many other establishments. If you want fast food style dining then the wonderful view of Maggiore and the lovely...

Clearly, a once sought after hotel to dignitaries which oozes history and hints of regal decor. Equally, customer service was of a very high standard. Nothing was too much. Thank you Roberto and team. Breathtaking view from our bedroom balcony. Lake Maggiore. Arrivederci
