I spent eleven nights at B&B Porta Garibaldi. It was perfect in every way. The apartment is spacious, comfortable, fully-equipped and nicely decorated. The apartment is on the fourth floor, and the windows are triple-glazed, so there is no street noise. Kitchen and bathroom are modern. There are numerous restaurants nearby. Porta Garibaldi station is an easy five or six minute walk. I did not use public transport but walked everywhere. Brera Pinacoteca was an 18 minute walk, the Duomo 35 minutes. Alessandra is extremely helpful, and speaks good English. She replenishes the breakfast supplies every day, including some lovely baked goods that she makes. My only hestation in recommending the B&B is that I may make it harder to get a reservation next year.

I loved this apartment so much! It is located in the best (in my opinion) area of Milan, between Porta Garibaldi and Brera, the apartment itself is super nice - super clean, beautifully decorated, with spacious bathroom and comfortable bed, fully equipped kitchen, a lot of coffee, tea and food to prepare breakfast. it just feels like home... and, most importantly, Alessandra is a wonderful host, super friendly and always happy to help and respond to  any questions. Hope to be back soon!

We have two priorities when seeking accommodation: a large, well-appointed room (preferably at least 30 sq. m.) and a well-recommended host. The information and photos on Alessandra’s website, as well as the many positive reviews on TripAdvisor, led us to book Porta Garibaldi B&B--even delaying our trip by a week in order to secure this apartment. And our decision proved to be a good one: the apartment is as advertised and Alessandra is a delight. She answered all our questions and was available to assist at any time. She is very generous in providing all you need for breakfast (eggs, bacon, cereal, juice, milk, yogurt, coffee, bread, plenty of fruit and home-made cakes) and she replenishes these items every day. The apartment itself is well laid out with a large bathroom and generous storage space for clothes and luggage. The location was excellent: Porta Garibaldi train station (which is also the site of a Metro station) is about a 10-minute walk—perfect if you are arriving by train or the Malpensa Express. Another Metro station (Moscova) is a similar distance away. We also found the tram from P. le Baiamonti very handy. There’s an excellent supermarket (Esselunga) across from the train station, and Eataly is a 5-minute walk from the apartment. The lively, pedestrian Corso Como is just a block away and leads into Corso Garibaldi--which takes you toward the city centre. This was the perfect place to recover from a long flight and jet lag and to start acquainting ourselves with Milan. All in all, we highly recommend Porta Garibaldi B&B.

Another perfect stay in a lovely well equipt apartment. The location is spot on, close to the historic city centre and a stones throw away from Porta Garibaldi train station, plus only 20mins walk away from the central train station. Making day trips to the lakes and other cities easy. On our hostess Alessandra we cannot say enough, helping us with a missing driving licence, making sure we had everything we needed to make our holiday perfect. A gem of a place, city and above all, hostess! Thank you and we will be back

We arrived in Milan in late July on Vueling Airlines, who lost our luggage. Needless to say, this did not do much for our mood as we made our way through the streets of Milan under the heat of the July sun toward Porta Garibaldi. Arriving at the hotel was a bit of a confusing experience, since the street number is not very well marked - all we saw was a large brown wooden door with no signs. However, a quick call to Alessandra cleared things up - we found our way inside and up the stairs toward our room. I quickly realized I should have taken the elevator instead, but no matter, we made it up to the room where the charming and super-friendly Alessandra was waiting for us. The room itself is quite comfortable, with a little kitchen area and stock of tasty pastries as well as some other food items in the refrigerator. The location is right in the heart of the Milan tourist area so it was a really convenient base from which to explore the charms of Milan. I can't say enough about how wonderful, helpful and welcoming Alessandra was, especially since we had no luggage and were wearing the same sweaty clothes we flew in with. Alessandra even gave me a needle and thread to reconnect the inconveniently popped-off button on the one sweaty pair of shorts I was wearing! Overall staying here was a terrific experience. I highly recommend this room to anyone, especially solo travelers or couples, who want a really charming little oasis of comfort in the middle of Milan. Bravo Alessandra! Mille Grazie!

We were so comfortable in this beautiful, clean room with modern appointments. The room has warm colors, and is nicely decorated with art. It has windows that can be opened, wifi, lots of closet space, lights, outlets, chairs, towels. The kitchen was fantastic ... Nespresso, tea, hot choc, milk, eggs, bacon, cereals, breads, pastries, marmalades ... Alessandra's warm, welcoming hospitality was simply the best!

We loved our time here. Our hostess. Alessandra, was exceptional! The studio came fully equipped. The kitchen had microwave, gas stove, refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster, dishes, pots, pans, cutlery, utensils, etc., not to mention fresh fruit, cakes, breads, cereals, bacon, eggs, etc. Although located on the 4th floor above street level, there is an elevator, so no dragging luggage up and down! The location is perfect, halfway between the P. Garibaldi and Moscova stops on the M2 (green) metro line and a block from tram lines 2 & 4. That made it super easy to access the entire city. I highly recommend!

Unfortunately Alessandra (the land lady) who I read so much about was out of town, but contact with her was very good. All things taken care of by Alessandra's husband who was very kind and helpful. Breakfast was wonderful with a big choice of yogurts, eggs, bacon and lovely Italian cakes. Espresso machine with capsules in the room is always a great touch, and all required utensils for cooking/eating available. location is terrific with easy access to Metro and a big selection of restaurants and pubs in the flat vicinity. As a food lover I also really liked the "EATALY" where you can eat, shop and learn about all Italian best produce. Area is very safe, we felt no problem walking around any time including late night hours. Would certainly highly recommend this place.

We toured throughout Italy and this B&B was our favourite. The location is very centrally located and is walking distance from all the main sights and close to restaurants and shops. Our host was extremely welcoming and helpful, providing a map and directions to the sights. The apartment is bright and comfortable and nicely decorated. The breakfast was fabulous, consisting of fresh fruits and pastries, toast with all sorts of spreads, eggs, milk, coffee and various teas, etc. I will definitely stay here again next time I’m in Milan. I chose Porta Garibaldi B&B because I had stayed there before (2016), and I had so enjoyed Alessandra's hospitality. 1. Location & Convenience Porta Garibaldi B&B is conveniently located a short walk from the Porta Garibaldi train stations (Metro and Regional). Take the Corso Como exit, then walk towards the historic Piazza Venticinque Aprile archway. You will soon reach the Piazza XXV Aprile intersection, turn right and walk along Viale Pasubio to the impressive old wooden door (beside the pharmacy). Now, follow Alessandra's instructions about using the intercomm. From the Metro exit to the gate the route along Corso Como and Viale Pasubio is flat with some cobbles; the walk should take about 10-12 minutes. Alessandra was away at a wedding when I arrived, so her husband "buzzed" me through the two security gates and reminded me to take the elevator to level 4. Easy as! Once inside, the apartment is warm, spacious, and has good natural light. Sitting on the bench, looking soooo inviting, is one of Alessandra's special treats - a beautiful freshly baked torte! Alessandra's husband hands me the keys, and says "Alessandra says you know everything". Well, not quite - I can't find the wifi password. He helps me with that, and everything is sweet as! Porta Garibaldi B&B is also within easy walking distance of Eataly - a fantastic food marketplace that is well worth a visit (in Milan the produce is excellent and the prices are quite reasonable). For those wanting to visit the Duomo (and the Galleria), head back to the Piazza archway, turn right and cross over to Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi, and enjoy the 25-30 minute stroll through the cafes and shops. If walking isn't your thing, head back to the Metro, or work out a tram route (there are tram lines in several streets handy to Porta Garibaldi B&B.). 2. Presentation & Comfort Alessandra's presentation is excellent. The apartment is bright, light, very welcoming, and even a little bit funky (I will leave it to you to discover those bits). Everything is spotlessly clean. Opposite the apartment is the new, very stylish Microsoft Italio building (on my previous visit it was a big hole in the ground). This is part of the exciting new development going on in the Porta Volta and Porta Nuova areas. 3. Amenities & Utilities The apartment offers a kitchenette, equipped with a fridge and a cooktop. Alessandra has a range of utensils for cooking, and her fridge is always well stocked with many options of breakfast foods. The bed is large and very comfortable, the bathroom works well, with a great shower, and Alessandra has plenty of storage if you want to unpack. Shutters on the windows help block out the street lights at night and also some of the street noise (always a bit of a compromise when you want to be close to the action). The apartment heating worked well on the rather cool Milan days during my visit, and the wifi (once I got the password sorted) was also good. 4. Service & Extras Alessandra's personal touch is very apparent. She loves to make her guests feel welcome and to enjoy their stay. Besides the freshly baked torte , she provides an array of fresh fruit and nuts, a very full cookie container, and some delightful baked fruit treats. When she returned from the wedding we had a catch up chat, but apart from that she does not interrupt my privacy in any way. This is my second stay at Porta Garibaldi B&B, and I certainly plan to return. It is an excellent base from which to explore Milan, and the Lombardy region (I took a day trip to Mantova - it is drop dead gorgeous!). If you chose to stay at a Porta Garibaldi B&B before I return, please say "ciao" to Alessandra for me! And now it's time for me to sign off with "grazie mille" to Alessandra and her Porta Garibaldi B&B.
