An amazing little hotel. This is the kind of hotel you miss in many another cities. Authentic, clean and very local. The staff is wonderful and the location is perfect for exploring one of the nicest areas of Milano. The hotel and the location exceeded our expectations by far. The breakfast was served in the room.
Chose this Hotel due to previous reviews. Yes it wasn’t a posh Hotel but full of charm , clean and Central.we ate at the 2 adjacent restaurants and they were full of locals and fully booked . Excellent food on the doorstep and 10% discount at the El Solferino . Easy walk to the train stations and the Duomo . Highly recommend pre booking tickets to walk on the Duomo roof . Open topped bus ride good too.
Ok well just returned from our Italian trip with family of 3. Hotel or perhaps best referred to as Pensione, is certainly tucked away but first impressions was the room is certainly a one star. Room looked NOTHING like the images online, let alone the appointment of the room, besides the drapery...Perhaps we got the worst room possible? Our ceiling over the bed for example was fabric so definitely concealing something! The bathroom was so narrow, and the shower - I mean my husbands but managed to close the door. Hot water only manage one comfortable shower person in morning and then again in afternoon or 2 persons as a quick wash. No bidet was provided. The room was clean however morning chit chat by other guests travelled loudly throughout the hall way. breakfast is basic Italian and whilst a nice treat better coffee and pasties offered cheaply in cafes directly outside hotel. The room was clean and tidy. The absolute plus is the location..cant beat it. So if you prefer location over frills then this is ideal.…
My room was large and had a very comfortable bed. The room was impeccably clean and I was treated to a nice breakfast in the morning that was delivered to my room. The location was perfect a mere 1-3 minute walk to all the bars and best restaurants in the Brera neighborhood. I will surely be back!
Very friendly proprietor, amazing restaurant downstairs in the hotel. Rooms are spacious as is the bathroom. The location is about a 10 min ride on the metro to Duomo, and metro station is about a 5-7 min walk. Lots of very nice bars and restaurants in the neighbourhood, walking distance around Via Moscova.
Once inside (we had a little trouble finding it and getting in when the taxi dropped us off) we were warmly welcomed and shown our room (up a flight of quite tricky stairs). Cases though are taken up by the staff in a lift hidden away somewhere. This is a little hotel with a difference, not for everybody, but we found it very enjoyable for the one night we stayed. Floor in the room was a bit springy and gave one the feeling parts might fall through. But all good. Probably a little over priced for what it is, but location excellent with very good restaurant (s) next door on both sides. A simple but excellent breakfast delivered to our room the next morning was much appreciated. Hard to recommend as it may not suit some people but we would come back if in Milan again.
All good. Stayed there for 4 nights. We arrived at 1 o'clock and had to pay 20€ for late check in- it was weird. The room was nice, but the view was to garden -it ment the wall of another house. The bed head was separate from bed. So it was very noisy. Very difficult to have fun in bed ;) The staff was nice :) Location was good, we didn't use public transport to get to city.
Fabulous Old World style small hotel, with great service and beautiful breakfast brought to the room. Loved our stay, which was only a 15 minute walk to Duomo. Milan worth a visit, for sure Douglas and other staff made our stay very pleasurable indeed. Steps to climb, but they insist on taking your bags, which was most welcomed.
This is a charming but small and unusual hotel in a great neighborhood in Milan. It's on the first floor (2nd floor for Americans) of an old building in Brera, which is known for upscale/artsy boutiques and restaurants. The rooms are quirky and full of antiques, with bathrooms that are pretty good considering the age of the place. It's not a real hotel in that it has no lobby, and there's no fulltime presence at the front desk (the front door has a code so that you can come and go as you want). Breakfast is eaten in the rooms (it's pretty standard Italian breakfast: coffee, rolls, some fruit and yogurt). This place won't be for everyone (the hallways are very narrow and the floors not always even), and the charm comes at fairly steep prices. But we found this hotel a great base to visit Milan, but it's definitely the Milan of Manzoni and Stendhal, not Prada and Armani.…
Superb location in central Milan, walkable to most places and in a relatively quiet street off the main drag. Delightfully unpretentious hotel with real character and charm. Douglas was a star as the all-encompassing frontman of the hotel - wonderfully cheerful and helpful, great English. Don't stay here if you want the glitz and glamour of a 5* hotel - it simply is not that and doesn't profess to be either. It is simply a lovely example of perfect, rustic Milanese hotel from a bygone era with exemplary staff. I just can't understand the previous negative rant by another traveller - I can only assume that he had completely unrealistic expectations. Without doubt, we would stay here again. p.s loved the breakfast in bed - what a treat!
