The hotel was fairly basic but offered good value for money, the buffet breakfast had a good choice of food. The hotel location was next to the central station and on a tram route which makes access to the centre of milan very easy. Would recommend this hotel for a basic place to stayin milan.

My traveling partner booked us a room at the Monopole during our short stay in Milan. We booked it due to price and location to train station (as we were only staying one night). (Obviously, she doesn't read TA or wouldn't have booked at this hotel.) Our stay was rather pleasant at the hotel - and I guess whichever review...

Not long back from a short stay at the Monopole and I have to say the hotel was excellent value for money at 30euro per head. I booked this hotel before seeing this website, and I'm sure like other readers, was a tad put off by the reviews. Reviews such as "I've stayed in better Turkish prisons", and "Don't go...

I have just returned from a very enjoyable stay in the Monopole and after reading the reviews on this site I felt compelled to write of my own experiences and to put the record straight to some extent. We arrived with some trepidation after reading the reviews of the hotel but after a pleasant welcome from the staff, then seeing...

Myself and a group of 6 friends stayed at Hotel Monopole last weekend, and had the worst stay ever!! In short we 100% HATED our stay here. On our second morning of staying here we woke up to find that our safe in our room had been emptied! All our cash and belongings had been stolen from the safe -...

Despite the awful reviews on this site that very nearly made us cancel our visit to Milan and our stay at the Monopole, as we had already booked before reading these reviews, we were extremely wary of what we might find when we arrived but we need not have worried - the hotel was very clean and the food at...

This hotel is expensive, dirty, outdated and a plain rip-off. The staff are arrogant and rude and do not have any respect for the customers paying £130 a night. Of particular note, the tiny bathrooms have at least 30 year old fittings and could do with a clean and refit. The hotel's website says they have a lounge bar /...

Have to agree with the other review on this site. Far and away the worst hotel I have ever stayed in too. Truly awful. When the contents of your toilet reappear through the grill in the middle of the bathroon floor when you pull the flush, you know you're not staying in reputable accomodation. The staff are extremely rude, almost laughably so.I too...

Perhaps the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, and I've been to Barry. The rooms and public areas are ugly, cramped, unwelcoming and possess themusty smell of a building which has only very recently had stagnant floodwater pumped out of it.I paid 150 Euro for a "superior" room, I can't imagine what it was "superior" too, a cardboard box perhaps...

Staying in Stazione Centrale

Neighbourhood Profile
Stazione Centrale
Central Station represents a bridge towards the future. Impressive skyscrapers and new age buildings stretch the skyline with the majestic Unicredit Tower cutting through. Surrounding it are large towers that define Piazza Gae Aulenti, where the fountain and the Monumento Trombe leave one breathless. A famous building of the district is the Vertical Forest, where the innovative materials and trees planted on the terraces are a unique mix of nature and man-made construction. In the district, there is the Monumental Cemetery, known for its antique tombs with sculptures portraying angels of commemorative scenes many will find touching.
