Stayed at GHV in May for one night and the hotel was fabulous. the room was massive and great facilities. We knew it was a little bit out of the city, but we were arriving by train at midday and leaving 24 hours later by train so wanted to be fairly close to station. 15-20 mins walk to Metro, 5...

Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in April 2007. Was alone for 3 of the nights until my husband joined me and the staff could not have been more welcoming. The reception staff were great from the word go, always greeting me whenever they saw me. Had dinner alone at the restaurant and was made to feel very comfortable,...

My teenage kids, husband and myself flew to Linate airport in early June and stayed at the hotel for two nights. Fab Hotel. Rooms were really big compared to other Italian hotels. We had two rooms - one for us on the executive floor (3rd) and the kids stayed on the 4th floor. Their room was as big as ours...

We stayed at the GHV for 3 nights and were very pleased. The bedroom was massive and the bed was King Size (-not two single beds pushed together as in many hotels we have stayed in!). There was a flat screen t.v, two seater sofa, table and chairs, and a walk-in wardrobe. Our only complaint about the room was the...

We stayed in the Hotel Grand Verdi on Easter Weekend, its a really nice hotel, modern finishing, extremely clean and the staff are really helpful. The bedroom was huge and spotless. The hotel does have a resturant but we didn't eat in it as it look very quiet. We did have our breakfast which was fine plenty of variety. The...

Just returned from 12 days in Europe and I must report we were very disappointed with Grand Hotel Verdi, Milan. The Frankfort, Torino, and Cinque Terre hotels were great but, The Grand Hotel Verdi in Milan was terrible. We had three nights there and not one night was comfortable due to the air conditioner not working and strong cigarrette smoke...

I shared a triple with my mom and brother here at this great hotel at the tail end of a 2 week tour throughout Italy. We had 4 star hotels at each of our stays in Rome, Florence, Venice, and Lake Como and I have to say, this was our favorite (especially at its incredibly low low low price when...

I have just returned from a weekend (2 nights) at Grand Hotel Verdi and had a wonderful time. I shared a triple room with 2 friends and it was perfect for our needs. The rooms are large, and very clean, and the 3rd bed (sofa bed) was perfectly comfortable. We didn't eat or drink at the hotel bar, in fact...

We also choose due to the encouraging reviews and even more so because it was a good hotel for a decent price for Milan standards. It truly isn't too far away from the center (20-25 minutes to the Dome). We stayed in the suite which was HUGE and everything met our expectations. Breakfast good by Italian standards, staff friendly. Valet...

My husband and I stayed in the Grand Hotel Verdi during early March for 3 nights. I had booked the hotel based on reviews on this site and wasn't disappointed! The hotel is a 20 minute (brisk!) walk into the centre which is really easy to find from the hotel - basically one straight road. Although it is located just...

Neighbourhood Profile
Stazione Centrale
Central Station represents a bridge towards the future. Impressive skyscrapers and new age buildings stretch the skyline with the majestic Unicredit Tower cutting through. Surrounding it are large towers that define Piazza Gae Aulenti, where the fountain and the Monumento Trombe leave one breathless. A famous building of the district is the Vertical Forest, where the innovative materials and trees planted on the terraces are a unique mix of nature and man-made construction. In the district, there is the Monumental Cemetery, known for its antique tombs with sculptures portraying angels of commemorative scenes many will find touching.
