This is a great hotel for a short stay. The location is good, in downtown Milan; close to subway and tram stations. There are plenty of restaurants around the hotel and much shopping and sightseeing as well. The breakfast is included in the tariff and it's awesome. There is also a full restaurant in-house, though closed on weekends. The staff...

Firstly, lets start with a few positives. We had arrived just before lunchtime, and had expected to drop bags and return to check-in later. However, our room was ready so an early check-in was available. Additionally, the lady on reception (Kristina) had noticed that it was my friend's birthday, and had arranged for a complimentary dessert to be sent up...

Tough review to write... Pillows, mattress, cleanliness, water pressure and especially staff all very good. Good breakfast too! We had two problems: a) Temperature controls. Most hotels in Milan don’t offer air conditioning in October (which I approve of in principle for climate change reasons) but somehow they are heated. All you can do is open the window, but that...

Stayed here for a night only. The hotel was very clean and the staff was extremely friendly. It's not 2 stops from the city centre. Not much choice in terms of restaurants in close proximity to the hotel but you can get to the centre easily on the metro. I would recommend staying here for a short trip.

We stayed here for 2 nights and what a great hotel this is. From the time we arrived to our departure we couldn't fault anything. All the staff were extremely efficient and helpful. The hotel was clean throughout and the rooms were immaculate. The breakfast choice was superb. Hot and cold choices (food and drink) Fruit, yoghurts, bread and pastries....

A great place to stay when in Milan. Not directly in the centre but a short walk from both Porta Venezia and Republicca metro stations and directly on tram routes. Very friendly staff and a wide range of breakfast goods on offer. Nearby Dal Baffo pizzeria on Via Lecco for evening dining.

we stayed only one night at the NH Machiavelli hotel although we had stopped by the day before while on a day trip from Varenna on Lake Como. Roberta at the front desk took such good care of us, giving us information about getting around Milan and making notes so that our room would be ready the next day when...

This is a good standard hotel, and is only about ten minutes walk from the Centrale station. It is also possible to walk to the centre, the Duomo or the Brera district in about half an hour from here. It is also served by two metro stations (Repubblica on the yellow line and Puerta Venezia on the red line) within...

Really liked the location. A 10 minute walk from Central station and a 10 minute walk through a beautiful park to the Duomo. The rooms were a good size and the bathroom had a bath! Breakfast had a good selection and the staff were always friendly and helpful. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. I would particularly recommend Il Carpaccio....

Staying in Stazione Centrale

Neighbourhood Profile
Stazione Centrale
Central Station represents a bridge towards the future. Impressive skyscrapers and new age buildings stretch the skyline with the majestic Unicredit Tower cutting through. Surrounding it are large towers that define Piazza Gae Aulenti, where the fountain and the Monumento Trombe leave one breathless. A famous building of the district is the Vertical Forest, where the innovative materials and trees planted on the terraces are a unique mix of nature and man-made construction. In the district, there is the Monumental Cemetery, known for its antique tombs with sculptures portraying angels of commemorative scenes many will find touching.
