Staff is perfect. Very familiar. Breakfast is also very good. They use to call me by my first name. This is a boutique hotel that I use to stay when I come back to Milan for business. Price is reasonable and fair.

A really super small but well equipped hotel. Staff incredibly helpful, rooms spotless, great breakfast and only 3 minutes from the duomo, fabulous location. Close to all the shopping you could want ang great restaurants near by.

Comfortable bed, clean room and bathroom, terrific breakfast and helpful, professional staff make Gran Duke a real find--and at reasonable rates. Near Duomo on a quiet street. We would recommend to couples, or small groups for business or pleasure.

The rooms and hotel are lovely. We arrived after an overnight flight, and although our rooms were not ready, the hotel provided complementary espressos and pastry. Just great! We stayed 5 nights - everything was perfect. While VERY close to the Duomo, it is on a quiet street. There are restaurants nearby, and we could walk most places. Breakfast and... More

Centrally located but in an amazingly quiet area this hotel has a friendly personal feel. Rooms are a decent size and well appointed. Bathrooms have everything necessary except an effective hair drier. The foyer and little bar area are very welcoming. Breakfast is an elaborate affair, perhaps overly so. Less choice might make for a better experience. Cappuccino was distinctly... More

This was our 3rd stay in this conveniently located boutique hotel near the historic center of Milan. You can walk almost everywhere. The pretty rooms are large by European standards, everything is immaculate and smells amazing at all times. The beds are also extremely comfortable! We think the breakfast has improved with each visit. The staff can't do enough for... More

Hotel located wall to wall from Pinacoteca Ambrosiana. 2 minutes to Piazza Duomo. Reasonably priced (for this location). Friendly and helpful personnel. Room small small, but convenient. Good breakfast (though I am not picky about that).

On a quiet square just two blocks from the cathedral plaza, this hotel has spotless rooms, comfortable beds, particularly gracious staff, and a scrumptious breakfast buffet that's included in the room rate. Walk to La Scala, great shopping, the castle, and the cathedral.

I was very pleased with my stay of four nights at gran duca. It was easy to walk to the Cathedral which leads to many other important sights in the city. The neighborhood of the hotel is very quiet because the surrounding buildings are public work sights, so few people are around at night, the streets are quit empty. Thus... More

Staying in Centro Storico

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
