The single room was big enough for one person, clean and well equipped. My room overlooked the main street, but it was silent and I slept well. I appreciated that the check out was at midday. The staff was kind and helpful, if I need to stay in the area again, I will choose to stay here.
Hotel Gamma was the perfect stay! I would highly recommend this place! I stayed in a terrible hostel the night before and was able to book a night at Hotel Gamma last minute. The staff was soooo accommodating and extremely friendly. I was so grateful for such a nice welcome after an awful night's sleep the night before. They kindly let me check into my room early and were helpful when I needed recommendations and directions for the city and my day trip to Lake Como. The rooms were very clean and breakfast was delicious, too! It was also affordable - definitely stay here!
We stayed here for 2 nights. It was clean, the staff were helpful and friendly and the breakfast was good. Train/metro/bus are all 2 minute walk away and it's 15-20 minutes straight to the Duomo stop. Only downside was the room seemed quite warm with no real means (apart from opening the window!) of adjusting it. Overall a good stay in a nude 3 star hotel.
You can hear all you neighbors very clearly, all bathroom pipes and toilet flushes. The fridge in the room is very very noisy too. I did not sleep at all the first night. They partially refurnished the room but walls, curtains, carpet floor are ugly, dirty and old. The bathroom is from another century, mold on seals, suspicious yellow marks on tyles. Luckily, I am short and thin, otherwise it would have been impossible to shower. Itchy sheets. In other words, STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE, especially if you want a good rest! One good thing though, people at the reception are friendly and helpful.
Close to the train station, but not the main one as I found out when I took the bus from the airport to the train station, so it was a 30 minute walk back to the hotel - which was ok for seeing some of the city and its people. The hotel is old, cold and uninspiring. Everything is old and tired, quite depressing on a cold, dark November day. Reception staff are friendly and helpful. Expensive for the quality of the hotel. Not a lot of eating choices in the immediate area.
Feeling a little harsh with this score, but am comparing this across quite a number of hotels that would have been rated before. Painfully slow WiFi (streaming not possible), below average shower (not thermostatically controlled, so be prepared for a temperature change during your wash), poor acoustics between rooms, and an average breakfast (no fresh juice or prepared fruit, just machine concentrate squash), all mean whilst there was nothing outrageously wrong, there were a number of smaller issues that detracted. Staff were, however, friendly and helpful throughout.
I am staying at this hotel two times per year from 2005! Its location is perfect as you can go everywhere you want. Aziz at the reception, is always friendly, polite and ready to help the clients. The hotel is fair, clean with a nice service.
I spent 5 nights here in a "double" room, which was a very small room containing a double bed. The room was in decent condition and cleaned nicely every day. As others have noted, the shower is tiny, and I kept banging my elbows on the wall trying to use the loo. But that's typical for this price bracket in Italy, so not a big deal. The breakfast was good, and the reception staff very affable - especially Aziz, who had a nice sense of humour and spoke excellent English. Very well situated for Lambrate station and the metro. There is an express bus from Linate airport which isn't mentioned on the hotel website... I caught a bus and a trolleybus, only to discover that I could have got this direct bus for 5 Euros. Aziz recommended a restaurant a couple of streets away called Al Sorriso, which serves delicious Italian seafood dishes. We ate there for 30 Euros per head, including wine.…
Location is the main advantage of this hotel, it is literally 100 meters away from Lambrate station with easy access to trains, taxi and metro. There are some small shops and cafés around, but the area is quite shabby. It seems like rooms and in particular bathrooms have not been refurbished since 80s or so. The bathroom was really tiny, smelled sewage and shower was awkward to use in all ways. Ventilation is very poor or practically none-existing in the rooms. Lock to my room was almost broken, and I could hear very well both my neighbours and occasional people passing by. Elevator is equally old, small and slow. There are seven stories in hotel, so unless you are in a good shape, ask for a room at lower floors. Breakfast was simple, but quite OK with good coffee and selection of fresh pastries. The personnel were polite, efficient and helpful. Cleaning was also fine.…
Many of the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was well done. The rooms were small, the showers wer very small, no bathtub. The elevator can fir two with moderate luggage, but at least there was an elevator. Rooms were clean. Some good restaurants nearby. The room air conditioners were a plus!
