We stayed 1 night on points across the way and 2 nights here as part of a La Scala package. We almost chose a different property based on some of the reviews here -- what a mistake that would have been! Lobby and rooms are small, but no different than any of the 3 properties we've stayed at around the...

Boutique hotel in downtown Milano. Only few rooms. Rooms not too big (bug eho needs a big room in Milan). Breakfast excellent: maybe not quantity but definitively quality. Staff from reception to concierge to breakfaststaff just amazing: they really give you the feeling you're their most important client. I know where I'll stay next time......

We stayed at The Gray last weekend, and I really coulnd't ask for a better hotel! It wasn't our first time at Milan, but this time I wanted something near the city centre, and this hotel is literally two steps away from the Duomo!!! I was overwhealmed with the decoration of this hotel, super chic and minimal, I loved every...

The rooms, at 12 sq.m (?) must be the smallest in Milan. Ridiculously small - even for one person. The hotel has a good location near Piazza Duomo. However, many better options nearby at the same price. The hotel charges EUR 36.00 for a simple breakfast - tea & croissant! When complaining they simply say this is what you must...

Dear Mr. Peter, Thank you very much for taking your time to write this review. The room you've booked must have been a City, which is our classic room of 15 sq meters, if you are looking for something more spacious we would recommend to try one of our junior suites on your next visit. Regarding to the breakfast I...

It is not at any standard of a 5-star hotel. Rooms were very small and even when we asked for a bigger one they told us it cost more. However, the hotel is not that cheap. I am giving 2 stars; one for the great location and one for forgetting our wallet in the safe box after checkout and we...

Dear Mrs. Noor, We would like to thank you for leaving your review. Our rooms size vary from 15 sq meters up to 35 sq meters, so maybe you have booked a City Room which is our classical one and also the smallest. It is normally that if you want to upgrade the room to another category which is bigger,...

Fairly a four star hotel that gets the fifth one thanks to the extremely convenient location in the very heart of Milan. Interiors are definitely not luxurious, one towel was dirty, no complimentary water, staff is not wearing a professional 5 star uniform and is not trained as 5 star personnel is usually trained. Soaps smell like fish detergents and...

This hotel USP is it's location. The rooms are average and the service almost non existant. As mentionned we stayed there because the location is excellent, close to the Duomo place and most of all to the covered Gallerias. Staying in Centro Storico

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A gem of a hotel in the heart of Milan, where stunning contemporary design meets sophistication and comfort. The Gray, with just 21 individually decorated rooms, is an intimate property full of style, an d includes an atmospheric restaurant, a cosy bar and bedrooms, some of which have their own private gym. Smart, witty design elements throughout add to the sense of elegance and comfort. Deep chocolate browns contrast with crisp creams, geometric lines are softened by colored lighting effects, while bright colour accents, such as the suspended fuchsia swing in the lobby, enliven the ambience. An afternoon of sightseeing could not be easier as the Duomo is literally at the end of the street and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele is in front of the hotel. A five-minute walk takes you to the fashion district around Via Monte Napoleone. Return to the hotel for delicious Mediterranean cuisine in the restaurant before heading to the opera. The Gray is a Small Luxury Hotels of the World property. ... more   less
