From the moment we stepped into the hotel we were warmly greeted and pleasantly surprised to find a complimentary bottle of local wine, fresh fruit, cookies, and an electric tea kettle with a variety of teas to choose from . What a perfect thoughtful gesture that demonstrates the eagerness of the staff to provide guests with a happy, memorable experience. I rarely give five star reviews, but my husband and I have been traveling throughout Italy for a month staying in 4 star hotels and the Hotel Lis is the very best hotel we stayed in this trip. I don’t know which organization assigns hotel stars, but they definitely should re-evaluate Hotel Lis because it exceeds the 4 star hotels we stayed in. The included breakfast was amazing - it is a feast for the eyes ! It had the widest variety of foods we encountered in any hotel. The staff will happily squeeze fresh oranges for your breakfast and the delicious breads are all made in house. Our room; (room 123) overlooked the lovely park across the street. The hotel has a great location and is within walking distances to many shops and restaurants and a large piazza. Another pleasant surprise - a few yards down from the hotel entrance we found street parking which is unusual for Italian cities- now that’s an Italian miracle! Bravo ! To the staff of Hotel Lis!!

Our three night stay at Hotel Lis was truly exceptional in every way. First of all, we must offer our sincere compliments on the outstanding crew working at the front desk, at breakfast and cleaning the rooms. Everyone was extremely friendly and made every effort to be certain we enjoyed our stay, including our little dog Lola who was treated like royalty. I understand all rooms had recently been remodelled - and it shows! Beautiful decor, comfortable beds, efficient soundproofing and updated bathrooms. The hotel also offers an abundant buffet breakfast that went beyond expectations (even scrambled eggs and at least ten breakfast pies and cakes). The hotel is located across the street from a beautiful park and a short five minute walk to the center of Asti. We noticed all the 'kind little touches' you'd never expect to see in a hotel such as toothbrushes in the bathroom, room numbers easily identified by signage that slightly protrudes from the wall (instead of flat on the door), fresh fruit basket and a bottle of wine in the room. Outstanding - and we'll definitely return to visit your beautiful city and stay again at Hotel Lis. Thank you!

We stayed for 3 nights . The hotel has both off street and garage parking available which is very reasonable at only 10 euro per night . The location is excellent right opposite a pretty park and within an easy walk to the town centre . Checkin was friendly and efficient and the breakfast was absolutely superb included in the price . The hotel was also very clean . For us the only negative was our room which was situated at the back of the hotel and I’m sorry to say was very depressing and in need of refurbishment . In hindsight we should have asked to be moved to the front of the hotel overlooking the park where the rooms were much nicer. In fairness to the owner ,to whom we addressed our concerns ,she was extremely sympathetic and understanding and told us if we’d asked to be moved earlier she would have done her best to accomodate us but in any event we were compensated with a generous discount on our bill so top marks for that from the owners. We would still recommend if staying in Asti ,unfortunately the booking site we used did not give the option of choosing a room with a view which would have happily paid more for.

I am happy that overall you had a pleasant stay, which could have been better and could have met your needs if you only had told us upon arrival that you preferred a room facing the park. Contrary to what you wrote, in fact it is possible on all portals to express your preferences simply by going to the "notes" section. Furthermore, as I told you, the room 108 where you stayed overnight is completely renovated apart from the floor which should have been replaced last January but due to the length of the work, it was not possible to replace the floor last January, but it is rescheduled for next December. For the rest, the room has a very large bathroom that was renovated in January 2022, completely new furniture and doors as well as mattresses and pillows. Besides the black leather sofa has been recently replaced with a new 'Le Corbusier' brand sofa. Hotel chosen almost by chance for a short stay in Asti, it turned out to be a perfect solution for every detail. It is family-run, with spotless rooms and furnished with every care: spacious, natural materials, quiet and refined, perfect in every detail. We were welcomed with great courtesy and all the necessary information, greetings in the room we found a bottle of wine and some fruit offered by the hotel. A great choice for your wine country visit! Hotel Lis is centrally located within walking distance to many restaurants and attractions. The guest rooms are clean, spacious, and well-appointed and the staff is friendly and helpful. We loved our stay at the Hotel Lis. It is a family owned and managed hotel and it shows by the attention they put into every detail. It was definitely my favorite in Italy during our month long visit due to its new amenities (newly remodeled, amazingly comfortable beds, pillows, sheets, bathroom, shower and towels), exceptional service by the owners and their staff and fabulous breakfast. While we were waiting for our room (we arrived early), Caterina, the owner, offered us a glass of wine (white, red or sparkling). We chose sparkling and while we waited (a very short wait), we enjoyed a very generous pour of their local sparkling wine along with nuts. When we entered our room, we were pleasantly surprised to find a complimentary bottle of local wine (Barbera D’Asti), basket of fresh fruit, cookies, and an electric tea kettle with a variety of teas to choose from on the desk with a very nice welcome note from the owners. In the morning, we were greeted with the most amazing breakfast buffet that I have ever seen in any hotel in Italy. The homemade cakes (too many to count) and croissants were the best we had anywhere. The breakfast was abundant and offered something for everyone (meats, cheeses, scrambled eggs, bacon, pastries, cereals, fruits, fresh squeezed orange juice and green juices, a display of honeys and more that I can’t even remember. It was truly amazing and beautiful. Plus the delicious smells! Yum! Also, the hotel offers complimentary street parking directly outside the hotel’s front door. They also have garage parking for a fee if you prefer. We were too tired one evening to go out to dinner and asked if they had any cheese or meats they could provide us to drink with our wine from their lobby bar. They prepared the most beautiful meat and cheese tray for us. It was beautiful, delicious and much appreciated! The location was perfect for us. Just a 5 min walk to the train station for our day trip to Turin and 8-10 min walk to the city center. We chose to stay in Asti so we could participate in their annual wine festival, Douja D’Or, held each September in the city center. The Hotel Lis was the perfect choice and we would definitely stay here again. In our opinion, this is the best place to stay in Asti. Thank you so much Caterina! My husband and I stayed here for three different periods during a three week visit to Italy. We cancelled a reservation elsewhere in one case as we were happier coming back to such an outstanding hotel. The family who own the establishment are amazingly kind, conscientious hosts who, along with their staff, do their best to ensure that your stay is both comfortable and enjoyable. The clean, spacious en suite rooms are comfortable and exceptionally quiet for a city centre location as the hotel faces a lovely park. We loved the breakfasts and freshly made juices. Their recommendations for restaurants and other advice was spot on. We will definitely be visiting again. (Masks required. Covid precautions fully observed.)

A modern hotel that very much has a business hotel feel with spacious, clean, well maintained rooms.
However, this is also a family-run establishment which gives the hotel some personality with some very nice aspects. You are warmly welcomed at breakfast and there is an array of freshy baked foods from the delicious cakes to homemade breads. There is also a welcoming bottle of local wine in the room which is a lovely gift to introduce to this wine and food epicentre. The hotel has plenty of parking nearby but is still only a short walk in the city centre.

I went to Hotel Lis for the Christmas Markets. It is a 2-minute walk from Piazza Vittorio Alfieri, so convenient for markets. The family-run hotel is very welcoming, the rooms are spacious, renovated, modern and elegant. Upon arrival we found a fruit basket, a bottle of Brut, kettle and some herbal teas. The room is equipped with minibar, air conditioning and free wifi. The bathroom is stocked with everything you need, from soaps to creams, intimate detergent and room sprays. Breakfast is served at a good time (until 10am); it offers an excellent and well-stocked buffet, both sweet and savoury. Drinks are served at the table, both hot and juiced and fruit centrifuges. In front of the hotel there are some free parking spaces, possibly they have some paid indoor parking spaces.
