Small hotel which, even though it is located right in front of the train station, is not disturbed by the noise of the trains. Very convenient because it has a nice private car park and is located a few steps from the city centre. Simple rooms but furnished with everything you need (lift, air conditioning, TV, hairdryer) and with a comfortable double bed. Bathroom with shower a little small but with everything you need, although a few more shelves or cabinets wouldn't be bad. The buffet breakfast is also good, mainly based on dessert. The owner Nadia, always at the reception, is very courteous and available to give tourist information. In short, we found everything we needed for our weekend in Asti here. I advise .

Hotel Cavour is ideally located with the friendliest of staff who will make your stay as comfortable as possible.

A big bonus for us was the off street parking (it is limited but there is heaps of free parking in the vicinity), and it is easy walking into the centre of town.

We won’t hesitate to stay here again if we find ourselves back in Asti.

The hotel, in front of the F.S. Station, is very close to the center (easily accessible on foot), has a reserved parking space (in the area still provided with parking even if paid). The rooms are cozy, neat and well laid out. Great cleaning. Staff helpful and friendly (especially for info about visits to the area). Great breakfast, varied and plentiful. We were very satisfied. To be repeated in case of trips in the area.

Cleanliness, attention, courtesy, silence are the words that come to me spontaneously when thinking about my stay. The staff is very kind and attentive; breakfast is simple but of good quality. If we really want the only aspect that leaves you a little thoughtful is the location close to the station which, as in all cities, is not exactly the best in terms of attendance... but this does not affect the service and welcome in the slightest.

This is your must stay. Apart from the convenience to everything - train and parking - the rooms are lovely, so comfortable and perfect for your base to explore Piedmont. Your hosts are a family who have owned this hotel for over 60 years and they truly love what they do. They know the area and will help you discover it. The breakfast is fantastic also. We highly recommend this hotel. 100%.

Hotel located opposite the station but with soundproofed rooms. Perfect for those traveling by train, the owners very kind, well-kept rooms with spacious bathrooms. In 5 minutes walk you are in the square of the palio that hosts the market under Christmas.
The price is low and worth a thought

The hotel was nice and clean. The rooms were spacious, and the staff was friendly. They also speak English, so that's a great plus.
Also, the local architecture is really beautiful.

Very well situated hotel. A short walk to all the local tourist stops. Lots to see. The staff were very helpful, free parking . If travelling by train also ideal as the station is just outside. I was surprised how very quiet it was - lovely bed. Recommend for a short stay.

You have family in Asti and they own the Hotel Cavour. I stayed here in September and December of 2013 for a total of nine days during a three month tour of Italy. Nadia and her parents (it is family owned) treat their guests like returning family members. They are your "free" English speaking tour guides. They will help you with train, bus, even plane schedules. They will help you to attend events like the Palio (oldest in Italy), the wine festival, truffle festival, history days, etc. They will show you how to visit various wineries by car or bus. They will make your stay in Asti more than you hoped for, they did for me.

The hotel is relatively small and personal. The rates are very reasonable and great value for money. It is perfectly located across the square from the train station and is very safe and quiet. It is two blocks to the bus station, the open air market or to the center of town. It is near everything, but out of the crowds and noise. My room faced the train station but with the new sound deadening windows, I never heard a train or car on the street. There is a self service laundry a block away. The hotel has off street secured parking and WiFi.

All the rooms are large, modern and en suite. The bathroom is modern with soap, shampoo, and hair dryer. The room and bath are beyond pristine and everything works perfectly. It even has a bar sized fridge! The bed and the bedding, including pillows, are clean and very comfortable. There is a flat screen TV with multiple channels. Due to my stays in both September and December, I used both the air-con and the heater, both worked perfectly. The lift to the second floor worked well. Yes, they will hold your bags for you on your departure day.

The breakfast provided this and more; coffee, cheese, ham, cereals, juices, yoghurt, hot chocolate, cakes, fresh fruits and wonderful home made tortes, etc. It is self service.

Do your self a favor, go to Asti and stay with your "cousin" Nadia at Hotel Cavour, you will be very glad you did. Visiting Asti, staying at the Hotel Cavour, and meeting Nadia and her parents was one of the best experiences of my 3 month stay in Italy. After years of solo travel, I have learned it is the people you meet that you will remember long after everything else, I will never forget them or their kindness. Thank You!

"Our rooms were quiet despite the fact they overlooked the station, but there are also rooms on the other side - these would probably be even better."
