Overlooking Lake Orta, Villa Crespi is a romantic gem of Moorish style architecture. This intimate hotel caters to guests looking for privacy, elegance and good food and wine. It is an escape from mundane lodging offering unique old-world elegance in a magnificent setting. Spend one or two nights at Villa Crespi and feel special.

Located above the Orta lake Villa Crespi offers excellent accomodation in what was the late 19th century summer residence of a wealthy italian textile dynasty.

Rooms are well appointed, in style with the period. Staff are very friendly and competent. The two Michelin star restaurant of chef and owner Cannavacciuolo is of course well worth a detour and a must if you are spending the night at the villa.

The park is also nice; the unfortunate fact that it is not pieds dans l‘eau has been overcome by the owners offering access to a sister property if you want a swim in the lake or lie by the pool.

Not cheap but highly recommended

The chilled atmosphere of Lago di Orta compared to the bigger lakes was a real joy, and well worth the visit.
Villa Crespi was a very special location. Recommend you come for the food more than the hotel itself, while stunning the rooms are a little dated (esp. the bathrooms). Celebrated Sicilian chef Cannavacciuolo didn't disappoint. Warning go very hungry as the 10 course tasting menu was excessive - still a treat once in a while.
All staff were exceptional.
Recommended for a night or two provided your pockets are deep enough.

Back in January 2021 booked and prepaid € 1.250 for a two day stay including visit to their restaurant to take place early July 2021.

Regretfully Covid still persists in Piemonte. Italian authorities maintain numerous regulations and red tape restrictions for tourists making a visit from abroad very complicated for the time being.

Requested Villa Crespi to postpone our visit. We are flexible on new dates which could be suited their low season/middle of the week.

Flatly refused any such arrangement. Kept our payment in full.

Appreciate they've had a tough Corona - year
but this attitude not expedient to their future.

Offered a generous 20 % discount if we booked again middle of the week/slow season.

Never ever.

It is a very nice hotel, quite beautiful and unique. Surroundings are great at Lake Orta. Staff is very Friendly and the restaurant is fantastic with super service
and still down to earth paying attention to our children as well. Some consideration for imprpvements is that as a 5 Star hotel the lunch options are very small and not so children friendly. We were also advised to eat breakfast in the room because of the weather, but it was clearly due to an event in the Garden. Also no Gym, which is not normal for a 5 Star. All in all, still a great place

This was the final stop of our family trip to Italy, and the best hotel was our last. I have stayed in many hotels but this beautiful boutique hotel had the best service throughout the property of any hotel. We arrived before check in and the concierge reserved four chairs at their beach hotel a short drive down the road, which was amazing. We loved it so much, we went back the next afternoon to rent an electric boat and swim in the crystal blue lake. Lunch/drinks and service was top notch at the sister property. Our three rooms at the Villa were opulent and luxurious. Every aspect was professional and special. The complimentary breakfast was outside on charming grounds and the coffee was incredible. We walked to the historic town to dine and shop and enjoy the sunset. We left early, before breakfast was served our last day, and the valet prepared cappuccinos for us and brought pastries as well, supplying our car with water bottles for our drive. Do not miss this gem.

Villa Crespi and Orta San Guilio were among the top highlights of our three week trip in Italy. Villa Crespi is stunning in its architectural design and also the lovely back garden with distant views of Lake Orta. The breakfast buffet each morning was excellent with many local, delicious pastry, breaks, meats, fruits and much more. The Chef was available to prepare egg orders. The staff were each friendly, warm, welcoming and professional. Rooms were spacious and 5 star quality. We did not dine in the restaurant for dinner as closed two of our nights and we had conflict for third but chef is very acclaimed. Orta San Guilio is an easy and pleasant ten or so minute walk from the hotel although hotel does have car available as well. We would absolutely visit again!! . LwE

Orta San Guilio location is stunning - a very pleasant walk to good bars and restaurants in town; exceptional service from Matteo and his team; large and comforable rooms with everything you could need; great breakfast in lush garden with lake view. Access to modern sister hotel Laqua with pool a lovely bonus, with a stunning lunch whilst waiting for our transport. Dinner at 3 Michelin restaurant a must - we had South to North tasting menu - not at all fussy and extremely well done. A fabulous finale to our Italy trip. Can highly recommend the whole experience.

The setting is unique…a 5 star Luxury hotel on the shores of Orta lake with only fourteen rooms. The architecture is moorish and you do feel in a very middle eastern home.
The service of the staff is superb. The gastronomic restaurant is a must!!! I do have one detail that I think would have made our stay better: a good a/c for those warm summer nights. I would have a suggestion too and it is to bring the rooms to the XXI century. The original details in the rooms are so stunning that they get lost in the furniture, color and drapery of curtains. Even the walls are covered in this tapestry which almost covers the beauty of the room. This is a bit of a shame, for such a unique place. I would have stripped those walls and paint them in a light color with light linen drapery for the curtains…. Monochromatic and clean! It is the only and unexpensive way to show off the beauty of the suites.

I usually prefer more updated interiors and amenities, so when I first saw pictures of these rooms I was worried that I made a mistake in booking this hotel. I am happy I relied on recommendations of others and tried this hotel. It is a really different experience. The rooms are old, yes, but are kept up extremely well, and housekeeping does an immaculate job. We stayed in the Rania suite, which was beautiful. The staff provided us with small canapes and champagne upon arrival.

Breakfasts were good - not a particularly large selection but the items were very good. So was the coffee.

Unfortunately, during our stay we had quite bad rain. We did have a few minor leaks at the windows in the room, which was a shame when you see the floors and the walls of the suite, but all was cleaned up quickly and efficiently.

Despite the weather issues we enjoyed our stay tremendously, have recommended this to our friends and would definitely return. Great service from the hotel staff, wonderful dinner at the restaurant.

Hello, It will take approx one hour/ 1h15min to get to the restaurant from Milan by car. By public trasportation you have to catch the train to Domodossola ( Borgomanero) and then a private service to get directly there
